Geo Deco Collection For the 'Geo Deco Collection' I was inspired by light. There's a great energy as the sun shines in the day and when lights glow in the dark. I'm fascinated by light, and as it moves how it changes shapes, reflects and refracts. As the sun shines through coloured glass, its a delight as the hues of colours flood in its moving path. The sun mixes with water and oils to create spectrums of colour and It makes us feel happy, alive and awake... I use layers of different coloured light conducting perspex, mixed with mirrors, brass and in some pieces, LEDs. As the Jewellery moves, light catches the layers of material absorbing the lights energy, enhancing the colours as they conduct and glow brightly catching the eye. I work hard with the materials to get a great finish, to give it a polished, shiny, glassy effect and top it with brass to enrich and make it shine golden. The jewellery collection are individual pieces of art... They are structured and made to capture and entertain its audience. I like the pieces to have extra dimensions. The Jewellery is new and innovative, yet people connect as they see and find familiarities and memories within. pikkalili@live.co.uk GALLERIES MOCO LOCO Galleries http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2012/10/15/gallery-beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery.php THE ARAM GALLERY http://www.thearamgallery.org/next/ XHIBIT 2011 http://www.boidus.co.uk/?p=2755 DESIGN CATWALK http://www.designcatwalk.com/lili-colley-enlighted-jewellery/ SEE/SAW/SEEN http://www.seesawseen.co.uk/ DeTnK http://www.detnk.com/node/12050 DESIGN WEEK http://www.designweek.co.uk/whats-on/demystifying-beautiful-objects/3035438.article http://mocoloco.com/galleries/gallery/beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery/ PRESS DRAPERSonline http://www.drapersonline.com/blogs/unzipped/lcfs-college-shop-not-a-pencil-sharpener-in-sight/5041799.article Londonist http://londonist.com/2012/10/today-london-college-of-fashion-shop-opens.php GLAMUK http://glam.co.uk/2012/09/its-back-to-college-time/ COMPANY Magazine http://www.company.co.uk/fashion/news/london-college-fashion-pop-up-shop LDN Fashion http://www.ldnfashion.com/london-fashion-news/london-college-of-fashions-pop-up-college-shop/ Timeout Magazine WGSN http://wgsn.tumblr.com/post/30987031794 Elle UK.com http://m.elleuk.com/fashion/shopping-blog/the-lcf-college-shop-returns Viora Magazine http://www.vioromagazine.it/photogallery/ Dew Magazine http://www.dewmagazine.com/issuu/06newworld.html http://elegiac-circus.tumblr.com/post/31019347447/lili-colley http://pinterest.com/thedefiant/magazine-volume-1-5-future-bioculture-aw12-ss13/ - Style Bubble http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/shoes-n-things.html · Tatler.com Catwalk review with emphasis on VIP and Celebs http://www.tatler.com/bystander/events/2012/june/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show#/7516/image/1 - Vogue.co.uk http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/06/29/london-college-of-fashion-ba-show - Evening Standard http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/fashion/all-the-trimmings-london-fashion-graduates-prove-they-have-a-bright-future-7898848.html?origin=internalSearch - Fashion156.com http://www.fashion156.com/collections/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-show-2012/ · Style Bubble Susie Lau’s influential fashion blog– Catwalk highlights: http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/hackney-house-antics.html · Catwalk Queen Catwalk show review: http://www.catwalkqueen.tv/2012/07/london_college_6.html · Dash Magazine online Catwalk show review http://www.fashiondash.net/?p=3226 · Adorn Girl Fashion Blog: http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-exhibition-2012/ Exhibition review http://adorngirl.com/robert-wun-fashion-designer/ spotlight on Robert Wun http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-catwalk-2012/ Catwalk show review http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-2012-catwalk-backstage/ Backstage images · Luxsure French luxury magazine: http://www.luxsure.fr/2012/07/01/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show-2012/ · Fashion Bite (Fashion blog) Catwalk show review: http://fashionbite.co.uk/2012/07/04/london-college-of-fashion-runway-show-class-of-2012/#more-11721 · Better Never Than Late (blog) Image Gallery of Backstage at Catwalk Show: http://bntl.co.uk/2012/07/03/backstage-lcf-press-show/ · Fashion Insight (Trade publication) Catwalk review http://fashioninsightfeatures.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/london-college-of-fashion-ba-season.html · EStyler Magazine Image gallery of all designers: http://estylermagazine.com/interviews · The Upcoming (fashion and news blog) Catwalk show review: http://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2012/07/02/london-college-of-fashion-ba-and-fda-show/ · Now Fashion Catwalk show image gallery: http://nowfashion.com/28-06-2012-london-college-of-fashion-2012-part-1-live-event-event-2256.html

London based Chinese lingerie&Fashion Designer who comes from a multilayered cultural background. Have always been a creative thinker with ability to see the 'whole picture' and be able to merge all art and contemporary influences into individual and cross-culturally designs.Accomplished at creative design and pattern cutting skills who believes in lingerie is all about self-expression which can combine both functional and sexuality and makes the best of woman’s looks, whilst controlling the body. Elf YueZhou lingerie brand which has strong identity with high-level combination of Chinese culture and Western avant-garde design. this brand is all about communicative power of contour with strong philosophy, to consider the flow around the body to demonstrate 'innovation' with sculptural paneling and simplified lines. My work is also inspired by oriental mood (both traditional culture and strong color palette) which combined extreme femininity and glamour with power to accentuate the beauty of the female body. The inspiration of my collection comes from an ancient style of Chinese calligraphy called Seal Characters so that my designs always go with abstracted lines mix with the geometric, modern structure silhouette and minimal clean-cut look to express the unique beauty of both Oriental and Western women, to make them liberated, sophisticated and powerful. Lingerie specialist focused on brand and design. Graduate collection is inspired by Tereza’s character in the novel ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’ by Milan Kundera. The range tells the story of her moments of ‘lightness’ and ‘weight’ through use of fabric, silhouette and colour. Bone castings grow out from seam lines that alter the body’s silhouette, exploring the answer to Tereza’s question when she wonders, “if various parts of her body began to grow and shrink and [she] no longer looked like herself, would she still be Tereza?”. Enthusiastic about creating a brand identity that is relevant and offers an experience - telling a story through products that focus on detailing, particularly using hand finished techniques, to create appropriate yet unexpected designs for the target market and consumer. Previously worked on industry projects during studies, both in commercial and luxury areas, including participating in the Triumph Inspiration Award and winning first prize for a swimwear collection designed for Gilly Hicks. Lived in Switzerland working in the Brand Management department at Triumph International during placement year, working across a variety of areas including range planning, product development and marketing communications. Also has experience in lingerie retail working at luxury label Myla London, using product knowledge and doing fittings to meet customer needs and wants. "The local outsider" The story starts from a 75 minute long awareness-raising documentary about Lao Hmong and my personal feelings after a Paris vacation in 2012. "Hunted Like Animals" was filmed by refugees who fled from Laos to Thailand. It explains what the military inside of Laos did to them, while they were running and hiding, half starved, from the attacks by the soldiers ~ over 30 years after the Vietnam War ended Link:http://www.sommerfilms.org/documentaries/Hmong/index.php Have you ever been trapped by Roma in a gold ring scam? I became concerned about the reasons behind it after I encountered more than eight Roma scam artists in one day. I started to reflect upon the poor living standards, negative social stereotypes and even enforced removal from their homes that this community suffers from. In order to express my concerns and raise public awareness "The local outsider" was born. A collection to promote ethnic harmony by increasing the profile of two oppressed minorities - Laos Hmong and EU-Roma. I have recently collaborated with Zoe Sterling for the Final Major Project photo shoot. Zoe's collection is based on 60s nostalgia and children's artwork. The inspiration behind this collection is connected to my Italian roots and my childhood memories. Exploring my Catholic heritage as well as religious beliefs and traditional celebrations, allowed me to create a modern and contemporary collection. The aim of my work is to celebrate the value of past memories, indispensable to establish the present and revive the future. The visual imagery I collected is mainly related to the Christian iconography as well as to the elderly people and their attitude to engage with religion in later life. The final outcome is the meeting point of juxtaposing elements: tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity, fragility and strength. The colors are mainly drawn from the Christian iconography and visual representation of the Virgin Mary: the choice of fun, bright and loud shades contributed to the creation of a bold wardrobe composed of voluminous silhouettes and an injected dose of modernity. The visual references I chose for my color palettes belong to a series of images called “infinita Gracias” taken from www.flickr.com, a sort of visual collection related to Christian symbols: electric blue, gold, orange, yellow and pastel pink were my main inspiration which enabled me to create an innovative and non-conventional winter palette. The bold and almost three-dimensional silhouettes are the result of my deep interest in structured, complex and detailed garments as well as my fascination of creative and innovative pattern cutting. My passion for collage also helped the creation and development of my garments and in the specific to the creation of the voluminous shoulder line, which is definitely the highlight of my work. The choice of cloths as well as the fabric manipulation helped my collection to reach a modern and contemporary finish line: bright orange and blue cashmere together with shiny stretch silks were emphasized by the addition of topstitching and quilting as well as mink fur details sponsored by Saga Furs. The aim of my final collection is to combine strong awareness in contemporary trends as well as fine technical skills. The revisited craft tradition of the quilting technique together with the exceptional choice of timeless fabrics such as wool cashmere, stretch silks and mink fur satin are the signature of my final work. My ideal customer is an independent and sophisticated woman, ready to present herself to the world in a non-conventional way. The voluminous shapes and intricate topstitching details clearly show a luxurious and exclusive taste. PROFILE Highly creative fashion designer with excellent hand drawing and visual skills. Dynamic and organised team player with well-developed written and verbal communications abilities, capable to quickly adapt within a high-pressured environment. Excellent customer service skills with a background in retail management. >>OLIVIA HOWICK This collection is for sale as one off garments-prices on request. Bags and Shoes can be made to order. http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LillyHowick?ref=seller_info Olivia Howick is a Surface Textiles for Fashion graduate specializing in embroidery and embellishment, with a passion for transforming unexpected materials into luxurious fashion embellishment. Her graduate collection: ‘Medicate Me’ is a high-end ready to wear womenswear collection, that demonstrates the collision of contemporary and traditional approaches to medicine, through the exploration of Native American culture and advances in scientific medicine. The collection draws upon a textile tradition, and transforms it to demonstrate a clinical aesthetic which will appeal to the contemporary consumer. Exploration of new materials, in particular the use of PVC, has allowed for highly creative and innovative textile development through embroidery processes, that reflect on traditional craftsmanship, whilst evoking a clinical and medicinal aesthetic. Transforming materials is becoming an increasingly important aspect of Olivia’s work. This collection saw PVC hose pipes cut, dyed and stitched to become PVC beadwork. Combining this with satin stitch work and screen printed fabric, Olivia likes to work with both traditional aspects to textile design as well more unconventional material. Integral to Olivia’s practice is her illustration and drawing. Specializing in highly detailed hand rendered work, her illustration style is graphic, yet rich in textile inspired texture and detail. Olivia was selected as a finalist for the Nina de Yorke fashion illustration prize, and has also been shortlisted to compete to illustrate for the Maria Luisa website. Olivia was selected for the LCF Press Exhibition 2013 and exhibited a sculptural textile piece which demonstrated the concepts surrounding her Final Collection, as well as showcasing new textile development. the disguise of the girls 2

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

the disguise of the girls it is about love - it is about strangeness - it is about innocence - it is about playfulness The SS14 collection is inspired primarily by Charles Manson’s cult of brainwashed girls and combined with the concept of the masquerade, the savagery of African and European fancy dresses and the folklore of Frida Kahlo. It links the competing notions of raw and pretty, oversized and adjusted, opaque and transparent, weird and feminine, and dark and innocent. The Manson girls’ identity is given to the identity-less of the masquerade to hide, to change, to obscure and to deceive into a disguise. ///// Education London College of Fashion - 2010-2013 BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology - Womenswear Lasalle College - Montreal, Canada - 2006-2009 Technical diploma - Design, pattern-cutting and dressmaking Work Experience Erdem - London, UK - 05.2012 - 08.2012 Sample room assistant William Richard Green - London, UK - 07.2011 - 10.2011 Studio assistant Rudsak - Montreal, Canada - 06.2009 - 08.2010 Designer Credits LCF BA 2013 press show embroidery/natasha searls-punter - photograhy/VogueUK LCF's 2013 press show preview embroidery/natasha searls-punter - photography/james rees - creative direction/rob phillips - beauty/pace chen - model/laura O’Grady at select model management (verve) the disguise of the girls 2 womenswear/roxanne - embroidery/natasha searls-punter - photography/chienyi wu - beauty/chloe han - models/lucy borland & mai stl untitled womenswear/roxanne - embroidery/natasha searls-punter - model/mai stl the disguise of the girls photography/mark blower - beauty/jin ong - muse/christie corbally at nevs F&F embroidery/natasha searls-punter - hat/daniel service - creative direction/rob phillips - photography/kasia wozniak - beauty/pace chen - muse/katharina at M+P i-D creative direction/rob phillips - photography/anthony john sayer - beauty/pace chen - muse/ines bizarro Revs magazine - coming soon Photography/josefina alazraki - styling/sophia probett - womenswear/roxanne leger - make up/mila victoria - hair/baba takusha Denim & Braids photography/chienYi wu - beauty/yura do - model/andrea chovanova at premier Press LCF 2013 ANNUAL www.issuu.com/london_college_of_fashion/docs/sdt-annual-2013 LCF BA 2013 press show www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/2013/live/ Fashion156 feature www.fashion156.com/daily-blog/london-college-of-fashion-class-of-2013-catwalk-show/ Fashion156 interview www.fashion156.com/daily-blog/f156-graduate-showcase-week-roxanne-leger/ Fashion156 womenswear award www.fashion156.com/daily-blog/f156-graduate-showcase-week-awards/ Vogue UK review www.vogue.co.uk/news/2013/07/02/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-show Vogue UK 127-137 www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/spring-summer-2014/ready-to-wear/london-college-of-fashion-ba/full-length-photos/gallery/1004220 Topshop review http://insideout.topshop.com/2013/07/fashions-new-names-to-remember Triptyque interview www.agencetriptyque.com/entrevue-roxanne-leger/ Amelia's magazine review http://www.ameliasmagazine.com/fashion/london-college-of-fashion-ba-hons-graduate-catwalk-show-2013-review-part-two/2013/07/22/

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

'We Raphaelites' SS14 Edward Curtis’s Spring Summer 2014 Collection is about the collision of simplicity and maximalism. Comparing today’s modern mood with historical painters of the pre-Raphaelite brotherhood was a key dialogue for this collection. The state of wonder and tranquillity in pre-Raphaelite paintings of everyday people in seen in ‘The Adventures of Guille and Belinda and the Enigmatic Meaning of their Dreams’ by Allessandra Sanguinetti were compared, contrasted and collaged with the art works of Bruce Ingram. Via a process of haphazard experiments, using illustration, manufacture, finish, drape work and fittings as creative catalysts, Edward refined his unusual finds into a contemporary summer collection of 12 intense looks. Using a free hand expressive illustration style, Edward closely studied his random, varying sized drawing lines forms, textures and finishes to explore and use as design tools. The juxtaposition of clean graphic paints with rough mark making and powdery organic chalk smudges, guided Edwards pattern cutting, choices of colours, fabrics and prints. Unsatisfied with the regularity of most manufacturing details, Edward incorporated different techniques such as faggoting for seams, rolls of fabric for exaggerated shapes and decoration, duel net sandwiched rouleau’s that become new fastenings at the neck and wrist either hanging like marshmallow meters or tied into chic, sculptured bows. The silhouettes are dedicated to a free, micro sexy hemline and mix between a softer, looser hourglass form and a wide, curved, neck to wrist silhouette. Short midi tops fall lower to the front and sensually, provocatively curve the contour lines revealing the lower back arch. Sashes and ties languidly grow from garments either draping to the floor or fetishticly and organically moulding the body. The illustration mark makings are turned into prints, that appear to be just strewn, arbitrary over garments and even panties. Panties under dresses that you are intentionally given glimpses of. This is a collection of personal passion and artistic freedom. Through the naivety of play and euphoria, the tranquillity of posture and grace of gesture and raw expressive lines comes a masterfully controlled, elegant and thoroughly modern collection. These are eye-catching fashion statements, bold, confident and sexy pieces to play in, designed to create striking silhouettes when posing! "The sky is blue for the same reason, but the blue at the horizon, the blue of land that seems to be dissolving into the sky, is a deeper, dreamier, melancholy blue, the blue at the farthest reaches of the places where you see for miles, the blue of distance. Blue is the color of longing for the distances you never arrive in, for the blue world." - Rebecca Solnit Travellers of this new century, migrate by option and desire to capture the changes of the world. The denim, this large portion of the project, connotes a democratic tradition and the appeal of the globalized world. Emphasized by with the use of ancient Japanese technique of Sakiori, the reuse of old material. Denim trousers were recycled and hand woven into pieces; the mass production transformed into hand made. BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Maria is a London based fashion jewellery designer, who graduated The London College of Fashion (2013) with a BA in Fashion Jewellery. Originally Maria took a foundation course at Central St Martin's in Art and Design, where she intended to embark on a career in Women's wear. However after some mentoring and self realization, Maria discovered that her true passion and talents were in jewellery design. During her time spent at LCF Maria developed her own style of design based on organic life and shapes taken from nature, combined with a mystical element of life forms from outer space. This unique combination led to a creative final project which she is very proud to present. Through experimentation Maria learned to use digital technology such as rapid prototyping, which enabled her to create the pieces that she had envisaged. Maria's graduate collection was inspired by nature and a curiosity of what lies beneath in the ocean together with the same curiosity for what exists beyond planet Earth. The final pieces are based on a mythical sea creature which was made with black lacquered plastic and Swarovski crystals. email: mariasokolyanskaya@gmail.com 1. http://digits2widgets.wordpress.com/2013/07/04/d2w-in-camden-town-launch-night/ 2. http://blog.trendstop.com/2013/05/gfw-ones-to-watch-maria-sokolyanskaya/ 3. http://institutemag.com/2013/07/05/magic-touch/ 4. http://www.ladiesngents.com/en/fast-forward2/MARIA-SOKOLYANSKAYA.asp?thisPage=1
