BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Born in Israel, Liron Kliger is a London based jewellery designer who graduated a BA (HON) in Jewellery Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion. Liron developed a passion for jewellery design whilst completing a foundation in fashion design course at West London College, Liron developed a love for raw materials and desire to create unique pieces encompassing the form and essence of the material used. The primary influence on Liron’s work (apart from the raw materials) evolved from years spent living and travelling in cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Tel Aviv. Liron was exposed cultural idiosyncrasies which in turn influenced the way in which she combines / uses materials and their subsequent adaptation to her needs. Liron’s latest project developed from a fascination with snakeskin and infatuation with catwalk pieces; motivating her to create her own interpretation via snakeskin inspired bangles. Liron’s previous catwalk projects include a large feathered neck piece and oversized dice jewellery. In the foundation year of her BA Liron was awarded third place in the UK in a competition run by the Metro newspaper for her creation of a jewellery body suit utilising recycled materials. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

Oksana Anilionyte I would like to thank Saga Furs for a wonderful sponsorship. Collection is based on idea of a soft control. The collection is an investigation into inter-relation of minimalism and modern women. I found my inspiration in Michelangelo Antonioni films L’Avventura (1960), La Notte (1961), Eclipse (1962) and Il deserto rosso (1964). His films concentrate on how the modern world influence people and their feelings. Personal feelings, doubts, moods are substance of the films. The works and processes of Robert Morris, Tony Cragg and Daniel Arsham sculptures and abstract painting of Dale Frank served as the initial inspiration for the silhouette, colour, texture and details of the collection. The aim was to mix different techniques and inspirations to reach new and unexpected levels. I embraced the complexities and simplicities by different techniques to reinvent a version of femininity. Robert Morris felt sculptures led to create new ways of using seams to express the fluidity of line. The collection is a lot about the lines that are so pure, so clear, that they convey simplicity in their perfection. The purity is combined with texture that comes from tufting embroidery and soft fur to create a new level of feelings that garments create when touched. A dialogue between time and timelessness runs through the progression of the minimalist aesthetic which is felt in fluidity of seam lines. The collection incorporates a range of luxury fabrics (cashmere, wool, silk, fur, leather) to examine the balance between textures, silhouette and a purity of line. >>OLIVIA HOWICK This collection is for sale as one off garments-prices on request. Bags and Shoes can be made to order. http://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LillyHowick?ref=seller_info Olivia Howick is a Surface Textiles for Fashion graduate specializing in embroidery and embellishment, with a passion for transforming unexpected materials into luxurious fashion embellishment. Her graduate collection: ‘Medicate Me’ is a high-end ready to wear womenswear collection, that demonstrates the collision of contemporary and traditional approaches to medicine, through the exploration of Native American culture and advances in scientific medicine. The collection draws upon a textile tradition, and transforms it to demonstrate a clinical aesthetic which will appeal to the contemporary consumer. Exploration of new materials, in particular the use of PVC, has allowed for highly creative and innovative textile development through embroidery processes, that reflect on traditional craftsmanship, whilst evoking a clinical and medicinal aesthetic. Transforming materials is becoming an increasingly important aspect of Olivia’s work. This collection saw PVC hose pipes cut, dyed and stitched to become PVC beadwork. Combining this with satin stitch work and screen printed fabric, Olivia likes to work with both traditional aspects to textile design as well more unconventional material. Integral to Olivia’s practice is her illustration and drawing. Specializing in highly detailed hand rendered work, her illustration style is graphic, yet rich in textile inspired texture and detail. Olivia was selected as a finalist for the Nina de Yorke fashion illustration prize, and has also been shortlisted to compete to illustrate for the Maria Luisa website. Olivia was selected for the LCF Press Exhibition 2013 and exhibited a sculptural textile piece which demonstrated the concepts surrounding her Final Collection, as well as showcasing new textile development. Valentina La Porta. Creative Director: Rob Phillips, Photography: James Rees, Beauty: Pace Chen

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

The inspiration behind this collection is connected to my Italian roots and my childhood memories. Exploring my Catholic heritage as well as religious beliefs and traditional celebrations, allowed me to create a modern and contemporary collection. The aim of my work is to celebrate the value of past memories, indispensable to establish the present and revive the future. The visual imagery I collected is mainly related to the Christian iconography as well as to the elderly people and their attitude to engage with religion in later life. The final outcome is the meeting point of juxtaposing elements: tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity, fragility and strength. The colors are mainly drawn from the Christian iconography and visual representation of the Virgin Mary: the choice of fun, bright and loud shades contributed to the creation of a bold wardrobe composed of voluminous silhouettes and an injected dose of modernity. The visual references I chose for my color palettes belong to a series of images called “infinita Gracias” taken from www.flickr.com, a sort of visual collection related to Christian symbols: electric blue, gold, orange, yellow and pastel pink were my main inspiration which enabled me to create an innovative and non-conventional winter palette. The bold and almost three-dimensional silhouettes are the result of my deep interest in structured, complex and detailed garments as well as my fascination of creative and innovative pattern cutting. My passion for collage also helped the creation and development of my garments and in the specific to the creation of the voluminous shoulder line, which is definitely the highlight of my work. The choice of cloths as well as the fabric manipulation helped my collection to reach a modern and contemporary finish line: bright orange and blue cashmere together with shiny stretch silks were emphasized by the addition of topstitching and quilting as well as mink fur details sponsored by Saga Furs. The aim of my final collection is to combine strong awareness in contemporary trends as well as fine technical skills. The revisited craft tradition of the quilting technique together with the exceptional choice of timeless fabrics such as wool cashmere, stretch silks and mink fur satin are the signature of my final work. My ideal customer is an independent and sophisticated woman, ready to present herself to the world in a non-conventional way. The voluminous shapes and intricate topstitching details clearly show a luxurious and exclusive taste. PROFILE Highly creative fashion designer with excellent hand drawing and visual skills. Dynamic and organised team player with well-developed written and verbal communications abilities, capable to quickly adapt within a high-pressured environment. Excellent customer service skills with a background in retail management. BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

www.jessicahearnshaw.com Jessica Hearnshaw is an Accessories Designer based in London who's focus is around the design and craftsmanship of high quality conceptual leather goods. This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance ----------------------------------------------- Credits: Images 1 - 5: Art Director: Benjamin Thapa, Photographer: Giulia Zucchetti, Model: Max @ Profile, Stylist: Irene Manicone, Makeup: Nichola Mai Images 6 - 9: Art Direction & Photographer: Benjamin Thapa Image 10 - 11: Photography: Anthony John Sayer Creative Director: Rob Phillips Beauty: Pace Chen Model: Rosemary Banks

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

Copyright © 2013 Devika Rattu ______________________________FLORAL DECAY Devika Rattu is a Surface Textiles Designer specialising in Print through traditional screen-printing and digital printed textiles. Her work explores printing and dyeing techniques with a modern twist by distorting and warping her artwork to create something distinctly unique. Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection Floral Decay is a high-end womenswear collection, which stemmed from the idea that man-made cites are created by destroying natural landscapes. Then when man no longer has use for the structures, the invasion of nature and the decaying process takes over and creates something delicately beautiful, fragile and unique. Looking at the visual record of physical decay shown in the work of Marchand and Meffre’s ‘Ruins of Detroit’ the photography explores abandonment by people, society and the presence of past lives within the derelict buildings. The collection draws on traditional print processes of Devore and dyeing used in a contemporary way with unconventional fabrics. The techniques have been extensively refined to showcase a highly creative development of textiles. Both techniques required long periods of time to explore, test and perfect, creating a distinctive collection. The dyeing and printing process has been a fundamental aspect to the collection. The importance of colour is paramount to Devika’s vision through her collection, especially the transformation of her artwork into printed textiles. An integral part to the development of Devika’s work is her floral illustrations. Specialising in organic watercolour paintings rich in colour, distorted and warped to form graphic structural shapes, which won her a prize for Chelsea Flower Show competition and an annual membership to the Royal Horticultural Society. Then developed for the illustration competition Nina De Yorke and used to create an instillation for the 2013 LCF Press Exhibition. ______________________________EDUCATION London College of Fashion Ba (Hons) Fashion Design Technology_Surface Textiles 2010-2013 London College of Fashion Foundation Diploma in Art and Design 2009-2010 ______________________________WORK EXPERIENCE Anna Sui -New York- Pattern Making Intern July-September 2012 Giles -London- Sample Room Intern January-May 2012 Freelance Print Designer_ Mirjam Roudén -London- Design Intern April-May 2011 ______________________________ ACHIEVEMENTS Runner up_Chelsea Flower show t-shirt competition Annual membership for The Royal Horticultural Society Collaborative photo shoot, producing 2 dresses and a headpiece for Fauna & Flora
