SS/13 - Combining Fashion Illustration with Fashion Design. Looking at Marching Cubes (a computer generated algorithm) and contrasting this with nature and old cartoon sketches formed my illustrations. Designing a set of five tops; same cut, different fabric, I overlaid my illustrations on top to synchronise these together. ± SS/13 COLLECTION TOPS + ILLUSTRATION - Holley Potts PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Scarlett Burton STORM MODEL - Annie Walker-Trafford STYLIST - Elle Baron VIDEOGRAPHER - Calvin Hayes ± AW/13 - Researching how chemical substances were originally used medicinally, but now widely taken for recreational use, I looked at today’s underground music scene. Taking inspiration ranging from the early Opium Dens. The vivid hues of the high and the dark greys of the lows gave me a colour distortion which is reflected in my silk digital prints. ± AW/13 COLLECTION LOOKBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Marie Bruce MODEL - Rachel Christianos STYLIST - Rita Shi ± AW/13 COLLECTION LINE UP PHOTOGRAPHY - Hanna Hillier HAIR + MAKEUP - Amber Pitkin MODEL - Amber Pitkin ± INTERNING Richard Nicoll May 2012 - July 2012 Giles Deacon November 2011 - March 2012 Selfridges: Marketing Department July 2007 - August 2007 ± ACHIEVEMENTS The Shoreditch Fashion Show 2013 Photography by Vytautas Dranginis ± FEATURED Chasseur Magazine - http://chasseurmagazine.com/2013/10/23/chasseur-webditorial-misa-simon-by-matt-lain/# Bright Young Things 2013 - http://www.clothesshowlive.com/page.cfm/link=130 W Magazine - http://weareselecters.com/2013/04/holley-potts-aw13-collection/ Kaltblut Magazine - http://www.kaltblut-magazine.com/april-illyj-and-pipa/ Coco Magazine - http://issuu.com/cocomagazine/docs/sept1coco Nou Magazine - http://www.noumagazine.com/you-say-ball-i-say-lets/ The Mark Magazine - http://www.themarkmag.com/marktorial/no-67-modernised-mod/ The Savy Dresser - http://thesavvydresser.wordpress.com/interview/

BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Born in Israel, Liron Kliger is a London based jewellery designer who graduated a BA (HON) in Jewellery Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion. Liron developed a passion for jewellery design whilst completing a foundation in fashion design course at West London College, Liron developed a love for raw materials and desire to create unique pieces encompassing the form and essence of the material used. The primary influence on Liron’s work (apart from the raw materials) evolved from years spent living and travelling in cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Tel Aviv. Liron was exposed cultural idiosyncrasies which in turn influenced the way in which she combines / uses materials and their subsequent adaptation to her needs. Liron’s latest project developed from a fascination with snakeskin and infatuation with catwalk pieces; motivating her to create her own interpretation via snakeskin inspired bangles. Liron’s previous catwalk projects include a large feathered neck piece and oversized dice jewellery. In the foundation year of her BA Liron was awarded third place in the UK in a competition run by the Metro newspaper for her creation of a jewellery body suit utilising recycled materials. Smiling Sandals - Aristides Vanis Collaboration

FdA Cordwainers Footwear Design

I strive to achieve a theatrical and conceptual aesthetic shaped with an elegance and wearability. I enjoy challenging design problems and experimenting with unusual materials. I also possess a diversity in my design and making skills, as demonstrated by my explorations in both men's and women's design, and enjoy pushing the boundaries of design far beyond convention. Having previously interned with McQ Alexander McQueen and Atalanta Weller, I am currently seeking the opportunity to do collaborative projects with other fashion designers, as well as across film and theatre. If you are interested in working with me or would like to shoot any of my pieces, please feel free to send me a message. -- COLLABORATION WITH ARISTIDES VANIS: Shoes created for Aristides Vanis's MA menswear collection 'TRAKATROUKA: THE PARTY'. -- COLLABORATION WITH SADIE CLAYTON: Shoes designed and made by me Clothes - Sadie Clayton Hats - Niamh Flanagan Photography - Iris Bjork Model - Mulan Itoje Make Up - Gosia Byliniak Hair - Lauren-Joal McCombe -- PREVIOUS FEATURES IN: Georgina Goodman's blog - 'Love Shoes and Other Stories': http://www.georginagoodman.com/blog/2013/05/28/sadie-claytons-graduate-collection/ AnOther Magazine: http://www.anothermag.com/loves/view/23883/Sadie_Clayton_-_Kingston_University_2013 The Mark Magazine: http://www.themarkmag.com/?lang=en The Individual Magazine: https://www.facebook.com/TheIndividualMagazine Shoe Lust: http://shoelust.us/post/37725153881/charlene-ong Trend Hunter: http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/womens-collection Female First: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/lifestyle-fashion/styletrends/fashion-student-metal-work-collection-296560.html

Harris Tweed Collaboration-Industrual rEvolution-Photography by Lillian Harriman

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

Tailoring creates a solid foundation for the work I produce. Experimenting with menswear and womenswear I appreciate an attire that is suitable for both a man and a woman; menswear with a subtle feminine touch and womenswear with an understated masculinity. My work tends to be based around a classic ethos, but still with a contemporary edge. I believe in garments that are timeless and less driven by the fashion trends. However, I do think a healthy balance between the two is essential otherwise fashion is never driven forward and therefore does not evolve. A clean cut is also another design principal I live by. Sharp lines and a clear structure set a foundation for me and then I build upon this with my choice of construction and in turn fabrication; through colour and texture. My rule of a clean cut is also put next to and balanced with my love of finishings; this is in terms of sewing finishes and fastenings. Detail and neatness is a part of my personality but also the way I work. Attention to detail is one of the most important skills I like to display and emphasis. I believe it really expresses the quality, time and love that has gone into the creation of a design. Being on the FdA Tailoring course at The London College of Fashion we are taught bespoke tailoring methods the first year and production methods the second year. This opens your mind to the differences and similarities of both tailoring fields and really helps to identify which you prefer and have more of an interest towards. I personally love to practice and demonstrate methods from both spectrums; I apply production methods predominantly but enjoy offsetting that with an emphasis of hand finishing techniques used in bespoke methods. My branding style has developed significantly in my last project. Employing a masculine and feminine aesthetic is something I have always subconsciously executed, but now I have identified and amplified the importance of it within my work; applying it as one of my design rules. Communicating this not only through the garments I create but also the face of the brand. In terms of inspiration I draw this from everything I see around me. Observation is one of my personality traits, and as mentioned before I pay great attention to detail. I notice the obvious but strive to look for the subtleties while always communicating this in a simplistic and straightforward way.

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

Copyright © 2013 Devika Anita Rattu ______________________________FLORAL DECAY Devika Rattu is a Surface Textiles Designer specialising in Print through traditional screen-printing and digital printed textiles. Her work explores printing and dyeing techniques with a modern twist by distorting and warping her artwork to create something distinctly unique. Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection Floral Decay is a high-end womenswear collection, which stemmed from the idea that man-made cites are created by destroying natural landscapes. Then when man no longer has use for the structures, the invasion of nature and the decaying process takes over and creates something delicately beautiful, fragile and unique. Looking at the visual record of physical decay shown in the work of Marchand and Meffre’s ‘Ruins of Detroit’ the photography explores abandonment by people, society and the presence of past lives within the derelict buildings. The collection draws on traditional print processes of Devore and dyeing used in a contemporary way with unconventional fabrics. The techniques have been extensively refined to showcase a highly creative development of textiles. Both techniques required long periods of time to explore, test and perfect, creating a distinctive collection. The dyeing and printing process has been a fundamental aspect to the collection. The importance of colour is paramount to Devika’s vision through her collection, especially the transformation of her artwork into printed textiles. An integral part to the development of Devika’s work is her floral illustrations. Specialising in organic watercolour paintings rich in colour, distorted and warped to form graphic structural shapes, which won her a prize for Chelsea Flower Show competition and an annual membership to the Royal Horticultural Society. Then developed for the illustration competition Nina De Yorke and used to create an instillation for the 2013 LCF Press Exhibition. ______________________________EDUCATION London College of Fashion Ba (Hons) Fashion Design Technology_Surface Textiles 2010-2013 London College of Fashion Foundation Diploma in Art and Design 2009-2010 ______________________________WORK EXPERIENCE Anna Sui -New York- Pattern Making Intern July-September 2012 Giles -London- Sample Room Intern January-May 2012 Freelance Print Designer_ Mirjam Roudén -London- Design Intern April-May 2011 ______________________________ ACHIEVEMENTS Runner up_Chelsea Flower show t-shirt competition Annual membership for The Royal Horticultural Society Collaborative photo shoot, producing 2 dresses and a headpiece for Fauna & Flora

‘The Plateau’ is a contemporary narrative of the history of Persia. This collection is a modern interpretation of Persian nation by juxtaposing different elements, combining both ancient and modern Persian art, history, costume and architecture within contemporary looks, in an attempt to highlight the cultural realities about this nation. The initial inspiration behind this collection was the surreal reflection of history in Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s masterpiece ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ which provided me with the idea of applying the communicative role of clothing to present cultural realities about Persia through rediscovery of the various historical eras. Expressive silhouettes, attention to details and use of crafts due to my Persian origin as well as my admiration for exclusivity of high design are highlights of my work. The sculptural shapes of the sleeves and bodices as well as the voluminous skirts are mainly inspired by the statues from ancient Persia and the women’s clothing from two of the most important royal dynasties in Iran. The curves are inspired by Persian architecture. Use of the colour blue in a variety of tones (aqua blue, Persian blue and turquoise), hues and textures reflects the divinity and importance of this colour in Persian culture. White-crème is the main colour used by ancient Persians and reflects the serenity and peacefulness of this nation. Also, use of rich ochre yellow presents the gold yellow which has always been used by the royals in the history of Persia (Iran), also is a symbol of fire as a divine element among the Persians. Bespoke jacquard fabrics used in this collection which are inspired by Persian motifs, emphasises on the historical roots of weaving among the Persians. To Enhance A Bespoke Fate, Toile AW 2014

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

Joshua Jeffrey Millard, the Farmers son from Dorset has brought his rural routes to the city of London, where he has developed the ability through learning Bespoke and Production Tailoring techniques to give body to his fantasies. Fantasies of which correlate around the beauty of the female form, and hybridise his rural-urban layers of inspiration together, to curate unique, quality garments. ‘My ambition has always been to resuscitate the tradition of British pride and the attitude towards ones own appearance, in turn rejuvenating the spectacle of class as my clientele are able to differentiate themselves from the masses’ He realises the importance of understanding construction and the engineering of the clothing when designing, hence from a young age taught himself and practiced the art of pattern cutting, and after finishing his A-Levels made the move to the metropolis of London in order to learn the fine art of Bespoke & Production Tailoring. His relocation to London has made him susceptible to different cultures and given him an insight into the reality of modern life. This has resulted in a catalyst effect upon the maturity and complexity of his work, and with this effect occurring over an 18-month period where he has already received a first class Foundation degree in Tailoring, he hopes to develop his technical ability even further on his final year of the BA Bespoke Tailoring degree. October 2013 - Insidebrackets, Magazine Editorial, Paris November 2013 - Victoria & Albert Museum, 'Fashion in Motion' Exhibition
