DURATION (2013) The project 'Duration' is to expand and develop the aspects about utilize concrete and concrete canvas combined linen, cement, concrete and leather to create the unique artefacts. Through the ideas and concepts of Japanese culture and aesthetic to express the meaning of ‘The passage of time’. The white paint as the method to incorporates the passage of time in artefact through fabrics that literally shows the process of ageing and decay. The painted object serves as a palimpsest that slowly gives way to layers of a hidden past. This feature rather emphatically highlights the process of ageing while simultaneously ensuring that each piece retains a certain degree of specificity. MA COLLECTION The Future of Form as a Quality of love F/W 2014

MA Fashion Design Technology Womenswear

The aim was to make a collection that will be very clean, modern and graphically strong by expressing it in a strong sculptural construction with the acute, clean lines and modern fabrics. The title of the project is very poetic: The future of the form as a quality of Love, and I truly wanted to show my personal emotions and feelings in the work and give it my personal mark. In regards to the visual reference, a work of a great artist, Lynn Chadwik preoccupied my attention. His sculptures are characterized as a hard edge, geometrical, with dramatic and narrative qualities. Those pieces of works channelled special rhythmicity in forms and garments-. The movement of clothes play as important a role as the figures themselves. That gave me a very strong support in the research for silhouettes as well as for the texture. Lucie-Smith (1997) My attention especially deflects his later works, where he plays with interaction, gender role, sexuality and movement in different expressions. That was indeed something that corresponds to my design aesthetic in way that I always aspire to have- both elements of female and male energy. The sculptures are mainly done in metal, bronze and stolid where there is not left too much space for the colour, except the accents on gold. I wanted to have the same approach in my work without playing with colour, as similarly to the sculptures I wanted to create a collection where body language speaks about the austerity, angularity and unapproachability. www.boris.co.me

Artefact 1 - MODE METONYM

MA Fashion Artefact

The aim of this collection was to develop sculptural pieces that the body could fit into or onto. Attempting to negotiate the need to physically wear these body adornments, but instead to engage and encourage a want to interact with the pieces, with an experiential and synthesised memory of the objects to be retained. The emotional and material connections we construct and apply to situations and spaces, experiences and memories, are all aspects of interaction and existence that I am attempting to imbue within this collection of Artefacts. A desire engendered in order to question and discuss the spectative nature of our society in relation to how fashion and art is displayed, received and coveted. The process of mark making and how to capture imprint; to abstract the notion of imprint and function into a solid and tangible object, simultaneously suggesting and illustrating the negative space formed around a human body. This is intended as a response to the ever-shifting boundaries and nature of both fashion and art. Turn Around (Self Portrait No.1)

MA Fashion Photography

In [Between] Images is an exploration of self-conscious female identity and the concept of the in-between through the performance of photography. The series of nine photographs, encountered through an installation where they are projected life-size, offer the viewer a liminal space in-between the image source and the projected image in which they are free to enter. The viewer is forced to consider his/herself in conjunction with the work. Exploring the idea of the ‘clothed nude’, the images interrogate notions of femininity by questioning the visible stereotypes of femininity/feminism that exist in contemporary culture—that women often have to be naked to be seen. The work exposes the alienation of this behaviour through a multi-layered performance, suggesting an on-going, recursive, inconsequentiality. Stephanie is a practicing visual artist currently working in London, UK. She holds an MA (Distinction) in Fashion Photography from the London College of Fashion (2014) and a BA (cum laude) in Visual Art with minors in Art History and English from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (2007). In 2009, she was selected as one of the very first Fine Artists in Residence at The Mansion at Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland; in 2010 she exhibited her first solo show at The Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Art Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows throughout the US and the UK, and has been published in European Photography, Wired, L'Officiel Italia, Pigeons & Peacocks, Creative Quarterly, UMBC Magazine, Arquitectura y Diseno, Structure Magazine, Strathmore News and Bartleby Creative Arts Journal.

‘Style conscious sustainable clothing for the rebellious older woman’™ Inspiration for the collection was gleaned from a number of iconic women through history particularly looking at Jackie ‘O’, Debbie Harry, Catherine Deneuve in ‘Belle de Jour’, Tippie Hedren in the Hitchcock film ‘The Birds’ and by also looking at vintage Helmut Lang from the 1990’s in New York City and Yves Saint Laurent from the 1970’s. Juxtaposing the controlled and refined ladylike demeanour of Jackie ‘O’ with the anti establishment iconic punk rocker Debbie Harry to create ‘grown up’ clothing with anti establishment undertones. The clothes will be seasonless as the current fashion system is no longer relevant in today’s society. And additional pieces will be introduced along with alternative fabrications on a quarterly basis. This collection is a culmination of taking pertinent details from past collections that still resonated with my aesthetic to produce a chic modern collection of sustainable clothing for mature women. They have been developed as the new classic with a twist and ethical consideration. This underlies the design ethos of clean lines and bold detailing with the comfort and fit requirements demanded of this demographic to provide urbane sustainable clothing for the older metropolitan woman. To be sustainable a myriad of design systems have been implemented in the development of the pieces to offer socially conscious clothing to women aged 35 +. Some fabrics are eco friendly and will be made in Europe to endeavor to keep prices competitive whilst the majority of the collection will be manufactured in the UK to support British manufacturing. The denim is made from recycled cotton and was chosen as its democratic and improves with age. High quality cotton shirting and silk crepe de chine have also been selected for longevity along with indigo knits. The concept is to develop key pieces that will integrate into existing wardrobes and that will be kept and treasured. Established in 2013 from here to eternity.™

MA Fashion Footwear

‘Conjoined Illusion’ The footwear collection ‘Conjoined Illusion’ is based on reflection, mirroring, visual illusions and conjoined twins. Every pair of shoes consists of four carbon fibre soles that are connected, conjoined in different ways. The idea of reflection, mirroring and optical illusions can be seen in the design of the uppers respectively in the design of the heels/platforms. Visual illusions and mirroring are arduously to understand for our brain. Our cognitive faculty gets irritated. If we look at objects from different perspectives they seem to change their shape, but they are still the same. The intention behind the designs is to somehow confuse, or disturb, or grasp the spectator for a long time. With my work I want to challenge the eyes and the mind. The collection ‘Conjoined Illusion’ shows that footwear can be a work of art but nevertheless conveys clearly the grace of a shoe. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

I graduated London College of Fashion with a First Class Honours Degree in FDT: Surface Textiles specialising in knitwear . I am interested in combining unusual materials and pushing techniques to their extremes to create innovative experimental textiles. I like exploring new ways of constructing garments to create new ways they can be worn. I often take inspiration from the traditional garments of different cultures, especially that of eastern Asian. The aesthetic of my work takes a lot of influence from Japanese fashion as well as sportswear and street fashion. My work takes a lot of inspiration from the process and the techniques used to create the textiles. Exploring textile techniques is an important part of the research in my work and I enjoy working in 3D. I use this approach when designing garments and stand work is integral to the development of silhouettes in my work. I always aim to let the textiles inform the silhouette as I like the unpredictable nature of working this way can create great results..

Outrospection; The Body and Mind This project has taken as a starting point the concept of "Outrospection" intially proposed by philosopher Roman Kznaric, where he propose that in order to know oneself one must live towards the outside. I have appropriated his concept while relating it to out-of-body experiences, by seeking to represent -in a metaphorical way- the mind being projected inwards out of the body as a way of self-expresion and representation. But the overall performance in fashion categories on crowdfunding platform is not satisfying. Customer value is essential for understanding why consumers choose to buy fashion products from crowdfunding platforms instead of others .However up to date there has been very little published work conducted in either fashion context or from customer value perspective. This study aims to investigate perceived customer value towards fashion products on crowdfunding platforms and how it affects consumers’ purchase intentions. Design/methodology/approach Adopting pragmatism philosophy and abductive approach, this study conducts research in both quantitative and qualitative methods. Focus group as a qualitative method was employed first to develop a multi-dimensional framework with hypotheses to identify customer value and relevant constructs towards fashion products on crowdfunding platforms. Following that, a survey using questionnaire was used to quantitatively assess customer value in different dimensions and explore relationships between customer values and purchase intentions. Spring/Summer 2013 Modern Wave

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

TV Western is a description for Spring/Summer 2011. This collection is a powerful collaboration of one silhouette of gunfighter, two different scales of cowboy blanket-patchwork and three-color manipulation of works. The outfits inspired by a variety of Western dramas in a golden age of Television, the 1950s'. What this collection camp up with, in essence, is a range of asymmetric silhouette and hemline involving a hand-made print of cowboy blanket-patchwork in terms of scale and texture. It is in fact that Herringbone-fabrics and colors create a strong visual effect bringing a complete communication conceptually. - Vogue UK http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/100604-london-college-of-fashion-ba-show.aspx - Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/fashionpicturegalleries/7804045/London-College-of-Fashion-BA-graduate-show.html?image=1 Please visit more on http://connielo.wix.com/main - Connie Lo - ‘connielo’ was created in 2010 by Connie Lo, with a modernity on a respect and influence for the arts and textile tradition. 2013 saw the launch of the ‘cuzzle.by connie lo’, ready-to-wear, combining an in-depth working knowledge of fashion print and tailoring. Concept Store entrance - product installation

MA Fashion Retail

I am a passionate industrial designer from Mexico City, with experience in fashion retail, shopper marketing, experiential and emotional branding, 3d modeling and visual representation. As a designer I am a true believer that good design is the result of powerful insights. About my work: Title: Online/Offline integrated fashion shopping experience Synopsis: Fashion retail is a constant changing industry. With technology becoming such an integral part of everyday life, consumers are constantly connected through different devices and online platforms. The shopper journey is now more complex, it does not start at the high street anymore; it may start at lunch, in the bus or in bed. It can be said that that shopping is divided in two types, online and in-store, where consumers rarely enjoy the benefit of both at the same place. In this scenario, this practice based dissertation aims to integrate the best of both worlds; –the sensory and emotional experience of the offline world with the access, interaction and convenience of the online world– in one holistic shopping experience in the fashion store. Through the use of advanced technologies (digital screens and signage, RFID systems, mobile innovations, Wi-fi) and a multisensory strategy (scent, sound, sight, taste, touch) the concept seeks respond to today’s digital empowered consumers to create an unreplicable fashion shopping experience.
