BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Born in Israel, Liron Kliger is a London based jewellery designer who graduated a BA (HON) in Jewellery Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion. Liron developed a passion for jewellery design whilst completing a foundation in fashion design course at West London College, Liron developed a love for raw materials and desire to create unique pieces encompassing the form and essence of the material used. The primary influence on Liron’s work (apart from the raw materials) evolved from years spent living and travelling in cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Tel Aviv. Liron was exposed cultural idiosyncrasies which in turn influenced the way in which she combines / uses materials and their subsequent adaptation to her needs. Liron’s latest project developed from a fascination with snakeskin and infatuation with catwalk pieces; motivating her to create her own interpretation via snakeskin inspired bangles. Liron’s previous catwalk projects include a large feathered neck piece and oversized dice jewellery. In the foundation year of her BA Liron was awarded third place in the UK in a competition run by the Metro newspaper for her creation of a jewellery body suit utilising recycled materials. MA Fashion Artefact

The project D a r s a n explores the role of marking tools in tracing reminiscences and examines the inborn manner of recollection. It seeks to experiment with natural charcoal drawing/marking processes, following and exploring the historical cave drawing methods. The results are a series of flowing, dream-like marking tools for recollections, which were used to make traces, marks and imprints on garments and transport the viewer and wearer into the imaginary of filmed reality. My project was done in collaboration with the sculptor Jaime Miranda.
We took an approach that utilized a system of conceptualization and design, and instead of developing tools, we discovered them.
We spent days on the shores of South America’s Pacific Ocean searching for driftwood that in its natural state would be the ideal foundation and base for our objects. Blurring the line between art and fashion, tools and garments brought to the existence the original interpretation of the ritual for the human- made drawing tools.
The marking tools are designed to give a dose of emotion, to fill the fashion object and give a new perspective for looking at them. I believe that the project proposes and provides a tangible experience of the newly proclaimed technological present whose intention was
to stimulate debate and reflections on the fragility of the relationship between human and nature. Photography: Iringo Demeter Model: Felicity Taylor

LASERCUT HANDPAINTED LEATHER

BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles

*- IN PRODUCTION - IMAGES OF COLLECTION COMING SOON - * THE START OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER The concept behind this collection is taken from Reptilian Theory. I have constructed a narrative from the conspiracy in which the UNDERCLASS assassinate those in power as they believe them to be REPTILIAN OVERLORDS that are controlling humanity. "It is believed that Margaret Thatchers recent death was an assassination by an underground resistance group of humans THE PLAN IS THE TAKE BACK CONTROL OF PLANET EARTH BY EXTERMINATING THE REPTILIAN RACE." This collection plays with culturally relevant topics such as Political Injustice, Class and Revolt with a backdrop of conspiracy and paranoia which is widespread in todays Cultural Climate. 'THE START OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER' seeks to communicate a political message through dark humour and metaphor. The aesthetic is rooted in countercultural and the DIY movement. This reflects the technophobic paranoia of conspiracy theorists by keeping everything 'offline' and 'underground'. All Textiles are hand painted and garments are constructed by hand using tradition Leather craft techniques. Through my research I discovered the source of empowerment that Horror Movies and Conspiracy Theories bring to the human conscious. With this in mind, the textiles seek to create the skin of the reptilian race, whilst the garments with raw edges and wrapped silhouettes show these creatures being skinned and worn as a source of empowerment and fearlessness in an increasingly scary world. BIO Textiles Focused Fashion Designer (Print Specialism) Through my BA I have developed an innovative and experimental way of working. Though I specialised in the Print Pathway, I believe my work to be Multimedia and my design process works within many disciplines such as Embroidery, Embellishment, Knit, Leathercraft, CAD CAM Technology and Fashion Design, as well as having an extensive knowledge of Printed Textiles. auralydon@gmail.com Instagram @aurasato

Holley Potts BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear http://showtime.arts.ac.uk/HolleyPotts WEBSITE: www.holleypotts.com holley.potts@hotmail.co.uk As a designer, I feel that most art forms should be integrated with practicality and this should also apply to fashion. SS/13 - Combining Fashion Illustration with Fashion Design. Looking at Marching Cubes (a computer generated algorithm) and contrasting this with nature and old cartoon sketches formed my illustrations. Designing a set of five tops; same cut, different fabric, I overlaid my illustrations on top to synchronise these together. ± SS/13 COLLECTION TOPS + ILLUSTRATION - Holley Potts PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Scarlett Burton STORM MODEL - Annie Walker-Trafford STYLIST - Elle Baron VIDEOGRAPHER - Calvin Hayes ± AW/13 - Researching how chemical substances were originally used medicinally, but now widely taken for recreational use, I looked at today’s underground music scene.
