Holley Potts BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear http://showtime.arts.ac.uk/HolleyPotts WEBSITE: www.holleypotts.com holley.potts@hotmail.co.uk As a designer, I feel that most art forms should be integrated with practicality and this should also apply to fashion. SS/13 - Combining Fashion Illustration with Fashion Design. Looking at Marching Cubes (a computer generated algorithm) and contrasting this with nature and old cartoon sketches formed my illustrations. Designing a set of five tops; same cut, different fabric, I overlaid my illustrations on top to synchronise these together. ± SS/13 COLLECTION TOPS + ILLUSTRATION - Holley Potts PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Scarlett Burton STORM MODEL - Annie Walker-Trafford STYLIST - Elle Baron VIDEOGRAPHER - Calvin Hayes ± AW/13 - Researching how chemical substances were originally used medicinally, but now widely taken for recreational use, I looked at today’s underground music scene. Taking inspiration ranging from the early Opium Dens. The vivid hues of the high and the dark greys of the lows gave me a colour distortion which is reflected in my silk digital prints. ± AW/13 COLLECTION LOOKBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Marie Bruce MODEL - Rachel Christianos STYLIST - Rita Shi ± AW/13 COLLECTION LINE UP PHOTOGRAPHY - Hanna Hillier HAIR + MAKEUP - Amber Pitkin MODEL - Amber Pitkin ± INTERNING Richard Nicoll May 2012 - July 2012 Giles Deacon November 2011 - March 2012 Selfridges: Marketing Department July 2007 - August 2007 ± ACHIEVEMENTS The Shoreditch Fashion Show 2013 Photography by Vytautas Dranginis ± FEATURED Binzento - http://www.binzento.com/2014/02/art-georgia-in-paris-continues.html?spref=fb Zeum Magazine - http://zeum-mag.com/2014/03/12/loveluck-by-sophie-mayanne/ Fashion Strikes - http://blog.fashionstrikes.com/2013/12/02/holley-potts/ Chasseur Magazine - http://chasseurmagazine.com/2013/10/23/chasseur-webditorial-misa-simon-by-matt-lain/# Bright Young Things 2013 - http://www.clothesshowlive.com/page.cfm/link=130 W Magazine - http://weareselecters.com/2013/04/holley-potts-aw13-collection/ Kaltblut Magazine - http://www.kaltblut-magazine.com/april-illyj-and-pipa/ Coco Magazine - http://issuu.com/cocomagazine/docs/sept1coco Nou Magazine - http://www.noumagazine.com/you-say-ball-i-say-lets/ The Mark Magazine - http://www.themarkmag.com/marktorial/no-67-modernised-mod/ The Savy Dresser - http://thesavvydresser.wordpress.com/interview/

He also enjoys contrasting this somber theme by developing collections that boast a bold kitsch aesthetic. He used these ideals to create opposing and complimenting imagery. The inspiration behind this collection is connected to my Italian roots and my childhood memories. Exploring my Catholic heritage as well as religious beliefs and traditional celebrations, allowed me to create a modern and contemporary collection. The aim of my work is to celebrate the value of past memories, indispensable to establish the present and revive the future. The visual imagery I collected is mainly related to the Christian iconography as well as to the elderly people and their attitude to engage with religion in later life. The final outcome is the meeting point of juxtaposing elements: tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity, fragility and strength. The colors are mainly drawn from the Christian iconography and visual representation of the Virgin Mary: the choice of fun, bright and loud shades contributed to the creation of a bold wardrobe composed of voluminous silhouettes and an injected dose of modernity. The visual references I chose for my color palettes belong to a series of images called “infinita Gracias” taken from www.flickr.com, a sort of visual collection related to Christian symbols: electric blue, gold, orange, yellow and pastel pink were my main inspiration which enabled me to create an innovative and non-conventional winter palette. The bold and almost three-dimensional silhouettes are the result of my deep interest in structured, complex and detailed garments as well as my fascination of creative and innovative pattern cutting. My passion for collage also helped the creation and development of my garments and in the specific to the creation of the voluminous shoulder line, which is definitely the highlight of my work. The choice of cloths as well as the fabric manipulation helped my collection to reach a modern and contemporary finish line: bright orange and blue cashmere together with shiny stretch silks were emphasized by the addition of topstitching and quilting as well as mink fur details sponsored by Saga Furs. The aim of my final collection is to combine strong awareness in contemporary trends as well as fine technical skills. The revisited craft tradition of the quilting technique together with the exceptional choice of timeless fabrics such as wool cashmere, stretch silks and mink fur satin are the signature of my final work. My ideal customer is an independent and sophisticated woman, ready to present herself to the world in a non-conventional way. The voluminous shapes and intricate topstitching details clearly show a luxurious and exclusive taste. PROFILE Highly creative fashion designer with excellent hand drawing and visual skills. Dynamic and organised team player with well-developed written and verbal communications abilities, capable to quickly adapt within a high-pressured environment. Excellent customer service skills with a background in retail management. Ocansey Bianchi is a Fashion Forward lifestyle brand, which focuses on challenging the concept of Tradition, Tailoring and Body Armour, resulting in a new unconventional approach to luxury Sportswear. The London Based Fashion Designer strongly believes that clothing should adapt on a journey with the wearer, encouraging and embracing different emotions and feelings, which one may embark on throughout the day. Thus resulting in the garment no longer being seen just as a garment, but instead becoming one with the wearer and embodying the form of a second skin. Other experience which Bianchi has gained includes; Roksanda Ilincic, Giles Deacon, Rah Productions, Tata Naka, Armani Exchange, Pierre Garroudi, BBC and Blink Productions

www.lindseytaitdesign.com e: lindseytaitdesign@mail.com A curious and diligent designer who takes inspiration from many sources including life experiences, anatomy, the fantastical and the unknown. The aim of lindseytait design is to use fashion and its influence as a channel to raise awareness of social issues and to make a difference. The brand is dedicated to having a social responsibility as well as producing superior quality crafted pieces that are one of a kind and make a statement. Striving for perfection, attention to detail is key as well as finding new and exciting ways to create, while incorporating traditional artisan techniques to produce beautifully finished products. Looking to modern technology to influence design and to push the boundaries of ‘fashion’, lindseytait design hopes to bring accessory design to new levels of what can be achieved. Born in a small town in Northern Ireland, Lindsey showed a strong passion for art and craft from a young age, which soon flourished into a love for fashion design. While completing her Foundation Diploma, Lindsey’s keen attention to detail and interest in accessories became apparent, leading to her relocation to London to attend London College of Fashion. Lindsey intends to remain in London to continue growing as a designer and to also expand her knowledge of fashion design and construction into apparel – although her main focus still remains on creating innovative and provocative fashion accessories. www.jessicahearnshaw.com Jessica Hearnshaw is an Accessories Designer based in London who's focus is around the design and craftsmanship of high quality conceptual leather goods. This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance ----------------------------------------------- Credits: Images 1 - 5: Art Director: Benjamin Thapa, Photographer: Giulia Zucchetti, Model: Max @ Profile, Stylist: Irene Manicone, Makeup: Nichola Mai Images 6 - 9: Art Direction & Photographer: Benjamin Thapa Image 10 - 11: Photography: Anthony John Sayer Creative Director: Rob Phillips Beauty: Pace Chen Model: Rosemary Banks

Yw  LCF MA Collection

MA Fashion Footwear

The concept of MA collection can be referred to the broad notion of postmodernism. Since postmodernism is too broad as a concept, I have conducted the project with the emphasis on certain characteristics that are opposite to the general idea of formalism. I am personally interested in designs that go beyond the existing framework and form. By challenging and modifying what is already formalized as a form or a set of rules, I have intended to try and develop a collection of new footwear designs that stretch the boundaries of visual, technical and functional forms. To an extent to which the original wearable function of footwear is not undermined by the excess of design, I attempt to seek some new possibilities of footwear design and develop the idea consistently. There are three important points . The first is development of a component that enables changing heels. The idea was inspired during the research on fixed gear cycle that can easily change the part of cycle and build up own cycle. Appropriating this concept of customization in cycle components into footwear, I have identified the heel part, simple, functionally effective parts in footwear, as a potential place for a new customizable component to be installed. The second is the leather layering technique on upper part. By multi layering of leather and modifying the thickness of leather shoes in that way, a new visual form can be discovered. The last is the experiment of a new material for heel and colour. The outcome of this collection is aimed to show a new form of footwear that is hard to be conceived in the industry. This is geared to illustrate some new possibilities and directions, at the same time, interact with the current trend without ruling out the functional aspect of footwear. In this I intend to build a collection of designs with realistic touch, which will feed new ideas into the industry and communicate with the customers through design. Moreover, living in the era of post-postmodernism with a number of much cherished and memorable designs, it is my personal aim to design one that will last through time with its beauty intact. For Showroom and GARMENT REQUEST please contact: Squidsthlm Daniela Sylvan Tellander squidsthlm@squidsthlm.se or info@hellysaz.com •Statement A London College of Fashion Womenswear Design graduate, currently pursuing a successful career in Fashion Design. Specific interest in pattern cutting, sewing and tailored clothing. Highly motivated individual with an eye for detail and expertise in crochet, knitwear, print and surface embellishments as well as good skills in CAD programs such as Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. An energetic individual with professional team leadership skills looking for challenging, creative graduate design opportunity from July 2012 •Antidote As a future fashion designer, global issues are very important to me and this is reflected in my work. Fashion has always played an important role in war and is constantly used in propaganda and advertisements. In today’s society we are under a constant and intense media bombardment about what is “accepted” and capitalism has turned fashion into a tool for mass production and fast consumption. Slowing down the process, I want to explore a more human alternative and concentrate on the essence of fashion which, for me, is fabrics, craft, and details. This minimal Autumn/Winter collection explores mobility within comfortable tailored clothes. I was inspired by a range of German Second World War uniforms that inspired the design and where the female becomes in a constant touch with masculine shapes. I also was inspired by Space Age images which led me to experiment and develop my own futuristic feel to the mood and fabrics where I experimented with using special machinery such as Tanaka. www.hellysaz.com www.facebook.com/hellysaz •Education 2009- Present BA Fashion Design & Technology Womens Wear The London College of Fashion, London Projects • Final Major Collection • Final Major Proposal • Craft and Technology exploring personal identity • Fashion and Sustainability • Tailoring Team Work • Denim and Jersey • The White Shirt 2007-2008 Diploma in Fashion Folio Central Saint Martin College of Art and Design, London 2006-2007 Diploma in Foundation Art and Design Cumbria Institute of the Arts, Carlisle, UK 2004-2006 HND Graphic Design Cumbria Institute of the Arts, Carlisle, UK • Design Experience 2011 May - September Tiger of Sweden Stockholm Design Assistance www.tigerofsweden.se 2010 June - October Charles Anastase London PA Assistance 2010 February - April Rui Leornades London Assistance http://www.ruileonardes.com/ • Employment 2008-2009 August - September The Home of Alfred Dunhill London Fashion Consultant 2008 June -September Massimo Dutti Knightsbridge Head Cashier/Supervisor •Achievements Awarded Sponsorship with zip supplier Albert Zip http://www.albertzips.com.tr/ British Fashion Council short list graduate Paper Print Editorial shoot Portfolio review http://www.britishfashioncouncil.com/ Shortlisted Nina De York Fashion Illustration Award 2012 LCF 2012 Press Runway Show Candidate Cutler and Gross Student Finalist in Cutler and Gross Launching Project 0734 cutlerandgross.com Not Just A Label - BLACK SHEEP Becoming a Black Sheep in Not Just A Label, announced as one of the most promising and visionary designers of the moment •Skills Adobe Creative: Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign 2D to 3D realisation Indebt Researching & Referencing Drawing & Technical Drawings (hand rendered) Illustrations (Multi-Media) Illustrations (Photoshop) Collaging Technical drawings (CAD) Silk Screen Printing Digital Printing Knitting (Hand) Crotchet Weaving Embroidery Pattern Cutting (Flat & Stand Methods) Drafting patterns Toiling Tailoring Manufacture domestic and industry machinery Manufacture, specialising in Jersey Specialised Machinery: Tanaka Graphic Design Trend Predictions Styling Texture specialisation Hairdressing Makeup Image retouching Art Direction Language;
