Graduate Diploma Fashion Design Technology

Based on the comparison between the imagined future from past and realistic present, I designed a high-end fashion collection that can react to changing of time and space to suit different occasions. It is a womenswear collection filled with 50s and 60’s essence and made of luminescent materials for Spring/Summer 2013. This collection is not about our future, it is about how our present would be in the vision of people who live in the past. Surface textiles that have new functions and decorative details provide greater potential for creative expression. After exploring a wide selection of exciting confluence of art, design, and technology, the idea of “Glow in the dark” strongly interested me to continue researching and developing. Fragment Look 5, Fur sponsored by Saga Furs, Zip sponsored by Lampo Italy, Photography: Giovanni Mantins, Model: Gregory France

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear

JEEGUI"FRAGMENT" A 14/15 autumn/winter season collection: investigating the concept that is ‘FRAGMENT’, representing an incomplete human development and fragmented memories of human history, through different texture, fabric and diagonal pattern cutting. ‘FRAGMENT’ in futuristic modern society is a representation of seeking traditional and primitive authenticity within humanity that we lost, against the lifestyles of modern society, which is lacking freedom, sameness or uniformity by large-scale manufacturing. In this collection, key fabrics are fur against showing with metallic silver leather and high tech bonded fabric. Basically, fur symbolizes the human authenticity from primitive and folk imagery, so that the fur in the collection is combined and crafted with futuristic fabric. It is a strong hybrid type of collection. Guyhyun is a menswear designer, who studied at London College of Fashion BA Menswear. Fad competition final

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear

- Final major project -"Artection" Artection is the word combined Art and Selection means Darwin's theory of evolution. If “Art” was a creature, how “Art” is survived in this modern society? Multiculturalism, people cannot help selecting to conduct themselves. As Darwin’s theory of evolution, a “Good” thing has been preserved or supersede. This Collection is Autumn and Winter collection 2015, mainly based on combining Modern and Classic style to explore the ”good” garments. The investigation starts from the British traditional tailoring process. The main inspiration take from the traditional and modern architectures in Europe to understand how trend of the times following the ages, that are the minimal sophisticated silhouettes and decorative gorgeous appearances. The garments development used deconstruction and reconstruction to mirror the process old fashion building migh go through. Also, rage of fabris use tactile processes as laser cutting surfaces with high quality fabrics to comfort yet also providing sensual fragile beauty through touch. Using traditional and simple silhouette with twisted pattern cutting approaching garments in innovative textile aim at comfortable to wear in everyday life. Hope the garments with this precious feeling contribute toward Slow Fashion as sustainable and enjoyable fashion. Styled collection pictures will be uploading soon*** -FAD Competition- "Something Missing" Our concept began by looking at how we view disability, as though because of a disability or impairment – a person can be thought of to be lacking in some way, have something missing. We wanted to change the way disabled people are viewed, and have based our research around finding ways of understanding the impact that the loss of a sense can mean to a person, and how to compensate for the loss of one sense and the strengthening of another. We focused on sight, loss of sight or sight impairment, and how blind or partially sighted people often find that other senses become more important to them, such as touch. We tried to imagine how to represent this in a fashion collection. Visually, we decided to reduce the colour palette to greys, to limit the fabrics in colour, but to increase the tactility of the fabrics, through surface texture. Our garment development used deconstruction and reconstruction to mirror the process a disabled person would go through, learning to live with their disabilities. Creating new forms out of old, finding new ways of doing things and new ways of living. Our fabrics use tactile processes, such as, laser cutting and embroidery based on Braille, and surfaces to comfort yet also providing sensual beauty through touch. Our garments for menswear are based on tailoring techniques, some are oversized pieces which allow the wearer space whilst also the confidence of well-cut clothing. We hope we can remind the viewer that to be disabled does not limit, does not mean that something is missing. But instead, to remind us, and the wearer, that each of us is unique, and our difference is what makes us special. -Press- http://www.pigeonsandpeacocks.com/2014/04/five-minutes-with-fad-award-winners-moe-takahashi-and-nobu-matsui/

BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

Sam Shepherd’s opulent artistic representations of beauty and fashion are inspired by his fascination with the arts, literature and music. The compelling visuals juxtapose beauty with decay and social aspirations with corruption and satire; it is these concepts that form the foundation of Sam’s work. Rich and vibrant materials and colours are used to create stunning images, the proportions of which are manipulated to focus the audience upon specific aspects that Sam wishes to highlight. The incorporation of embroidery juxtaposes an ascetically pleasing image with an element of unravelling. The loose threads suggest vulnerability and transience. This aspect of fashion illustration is developed further through the fragile characters that lack control or direction. Furthermore, Sam reflects upon his fascination of insects that have been in corporate into designs. This reflects the 19th century fascination regarding entomology and art nouveau inspired imagery. There is an element of irony as insects – like ourselves - live in complex communities, to a greater or lesser extent they clean up after us. Sam has worked for House of Holland as an embroidery and embellishment intern for the incredibly successful autumn/winter 2013 collection. In addition, he created a visual representation look book for Martine Rose spring/summer 2013 collection. He has also created beauty portraits for the Colour and Culture exhibition for á la carte cosmetics, curated by Ryan Lanji. Over the past three years, the London School of Fashion has supported and helped to develop Sam’s visual style. Sam aims to continue to develop a visual brand, which illustrates the inspirational nature of fashion whilst playfully deconstructing the reality.

Oksana Anilionyte I would like to thank Saga Furs for a wonderful sponsorship. Collection is based on idea of a soft control. The collection is an investigation into inter-relation of minimalism and modern women. I found my inspiration in Michelangelo Antonioni films L’Avventura (1960), La Notte (1961), Eclipse (1962) and Il deserto rosso (1964). His films concentrate on how the modern world influence people and their feelings. Personal feelings, doubts, moods are substance of the films. The works and processes of Robert Morris, Tony Cragg and Daniel Arsham sculptures and abstract painting of Dale Frank served as the initial inspiration for the silhouette, colour, texture and details of the collection. The aim was to mix different techniques and inspirations to reach new and unexpected levels. I embraced the complexities and simplicities by different techniques to reinvent a version of femininity. Robert Morris felt sculptures led to create new ways of using seams to express the fluidity of line. The collection is a lot about the lines that are so pure, so clear, that they convey simplicity in their perfection. The purity is combined with texture that comes from tufting embroidery and soft fur to create a new level of feelings that garments create when touched. A dialogue between time and timelessness runs through the progression of the minimalist aesthetic which is felt in fluidity of seam lines. The collection incorporates a range of luxury fabrics (cashmere, wool, silk, fur, leather) to examine the balance between textures, silhouette and a purity of line. BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

I am currently in my final year at London College of Fashion, studying BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration. My work is a reflection of my inspirations, from nature to all things mystical. I create a different story with every illustration, as my mind wonders all over a blank canvas. I embrace the details in my illustrations but give my pencil freedom to wander wherever it wants. I also have some background in textiles & design which I like to experiment with in 3D form. From time to time, I like to weave my hands-on talents into my illustrations, from textiles to paper art. I strife to make beautiful things, yet my work is in constant transition. Contact: agne.ro@hotmail.co.uk
