BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

Emily May is a South London-based freelance illustrator and artist. She goes wild for comix, acrylic markers, fast food and slasher movies. Having studied Fashion Illustration BA at the London College of Fashion, Emily uses her fashion-oriented background of study, and her love for all things femme and kitsch, to create carefully hand-drawn illustrations that tell stories. Coming soon: the debut of webcomic 'The Perilous Adventures of Beatrice'. There'll be laughs, frights and ritual sacrifices in Emily May's new hand-illustrated comic, which draws inspiration from both the 1980s alternative comic movement and the horror genre's greatest dames of the silver screen. Emily is always looking for new and exciting challenges as a creative practitioner - if you wish to make contact or request a commission, please email emilymayillustrates@gmail.com.

Clutch-Inuit Collection

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Accessories: Product Design and Development

The concept of the Inuit collection is based on Scandinavian Design and the mistery of the Arctic. Scandinavian style is associated with elegance, understatement and functionality and is often discribed as minimalist consisting of simple lines and shapes. The aesthetic of this collection has been inspired by contemporary product design and furniture. The use of natural materials, in particular moulded wood has had a substantial impact on this collection and is reflected in many of the details. The concept of the Inuit collection was to establish new forms and functions for fashion accessories. Credits to: Make-up and Styling; Sonja Zglobicka Photographer; Marcin Chojnacki Model; Kasia Chojnacka Kazy Mera is a minimalist luxury leather handbag brand created in London in 2013 as part of a final project on the Cordwainers Accessories Design course. Levi's Double Page Spread Magazine Ad Campaign

FdA Fashion Styling and Photography

I have a passion for performing as well as creative arts. My excitement for fashion was from a young age when I would get fascinated by major events such as London Fashion Week as well as musicals and stage productions. I became interested in photography when studying and getting interested in architecture and people would encourage me by complimenting my eye for detail. Disability is something that I would like to include in my label more as I feel there is a gap in the fashion industry when it comes to that subject. It seems very easy for people to say no when it comes to disability without being given a chance. I would like to work with disabled models more.

BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles

Final year knit student on the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles course at London College of Fashion with an experimental approach to design and ability to knit with a variety of materials. Previous degree in illustration allowed me to exercise strong drawing and conceptual thinking skills, which are continually integrated into my current work which is described as unconventional yet, wearable with a feminine touch. As part of my final major project, the idea of fashioned-objects that grow with the wearer over time was explored drawing inspiration from Western charm jewellery and its variants worldwide. Further research into the concept resulted in a collection of luxurious, knitted art jewellery pieces, which uniquely showcase the idea of building forms through the use of unconventional materials and techniques. These ‘one-off’ pieces are geared towards sophisticated women of any age who enjoy ‘making statements’ through dress which allow their personalities to shine just like a piece of charm jewellery. ___________________________________________________ Education: September 2011-present [University of the Arts London: London College of Fashion [London, England] [BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles] Specializing in knit Sept 2010-May 2011 [University of the Arts London: Chelsea College of Art and Design] [London, England] [Foundation Diploma in Art and Design] Specialized in Fashion and Textile Design 2004-2008 [Ontario College of Art and Design] [Toronto, Ontario Canada] [Bachelor of Design, Illustration] 2003-2004 [Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning] [Oakville, Ontario, Canada] [Art Fundamentals Certificate] ___________________________________________________ Work Experience: uk.linkedin.com/in/lindaawuku ___________________________________________________ Credits: "...like a piece of charm jewellery." I try to always relate my projects to social or political events to gain a greater knowledge of current culture and media. My tone is sarcastic yet playful and aesthetic is relaxed and casual with a hint of fetishised sensuality. My aim is to create conceptual collections that raise awareness for social issues that lie within popular culture, while poking fun at the way we as a society choose to handle them. ISSUU - The Wardrobe by Saskia Barlow

MA Fashion Journalism

For my final MA project I wrote, produced and illustrated a coffee table book on fashion collectors. Topics covered included vintage Haute Couture, vintage Moschino prints and rare historical boyswear. I also put together a 15,000 word market report and analysis to prove it has a niche and would be viable if it was to be published independently, (although at this time a major publishing house is interested).

Final Collection 1

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

With a constructive approach to design, Andy Dunford uses craft-like and unusual methods of reinventing textiles. Starting with traditional silhouettes, he reinterprets these codes, creating a contemporary wardrobe with great attention to detail and the functionality of garments. In particular for this collection, gender has been explored in appropriating womenswear for the modern, sophisticated man. It was during his part-time internship at futuristic, minimalist menswear brand Peir Wu that Andy began to investigate the thought process behind design and the story and personality of dress. Through this industry experience and discovery in both ordinary and extraordinary life, the concept of his designs are formed. He surrounds himself with creatives and takes inspiration from personality. Ever the observer, it is mood and perspective that most interests him. Exploring various uniforms and the concept of wardrobe creates a living costume. Andy looks at the apron as a canvas for living and existing in modern life - his final collection is an examination of how clothes adapt with you and how they can be inspired by one’s seemingly mundane and often overlooked surroundings.
