BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories: Product Design and Innovation

www.jessicahearnshaw.com Jessica Hearnshaw is an Accessories Designer based in London who's focus is around the design and craftsmanship of high quality conceptual leather goods. This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance ----------------------------------------------- Credits: Images 1 - 5: Art Director: Benjamin Thapa, Photographer: Giulia Zucchetti, Model: Max @ Profile, Stylist: Irene Manicone, Makeup: Nichola Mai Images 6 - 9: Art Direction & Photographer: Benjamin Thapa Image 10 - 11: Photography: Anthony John Sayer Creative Director: Rob Phillips Beauty: Pace Chen Model: Rosemary Banks

http://mlithvall.com/ Hello and welcome! I am a multi disciplinary Swedish visual communicator based in London and Stockholm. Having studied at London College of Fashion in London, as well as Forsbergs in Stockholm and Commercial Arts Training College in Sydney, I now work freelance across a range of medias and platforms within fashion and lifestyle. My style is very adaptive which means I have the ability to deliver ideas and designs in many different approaches; everything from corporate bank reports to exciting apparel graphics. Nevertheless, I am a sucker for illustration and believe a beautiful doodle looks fabulous pretty much everywhere. My style is described as; diverse, highly detailed and feminine, mixing handmade and digital techniques to create illustrations and graphics. I have also created my own collections which have been sold at Tjallamalla in Stockholm and I’ve worked as a product designer and with visual merchandising for stores in Stockholm, Sydney and London. Crista Repo

BA (Hons) Fashion Management

Crista Repo is a Finnish entrepreneur and creative director of her own designer label based in London. Her menswear collections focus on minimal Scandinavian design in exclusive high-end materials. Having attended art school in her native Finland, where she later on earned a vocational degree in visual communications, Crista uses these Scandinavian influences in her collections. These are reflected in her designs and visual aesthetics, as well as inspiring her inclusion of ethical Finnish leathers and furs, with fabrics originating mainly from Italy, France and UK. Having studied at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, then going on to complete her masters in International Fashion Management at the London College of Fashion, Crista established a strong theoretical background in fashion and the business skills of managing international brands. In addition to her education, before founding CR Studios ltd, the company behind her designer label, Crista further developed her keen interests working in diverse roles across different fields of fashion from retail to PR and communications. Her experience working as a menswear stylist has had a particularly strong influence in the development of her brand. Crista also aspires to incorporate her love for art and design into her collections by collaborating with visual artists in various fields of communication.

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

>>OLIVIA HOWICK Olivia Howick is a Surface Textiles for Fashion graduate specializing in embroidery and embellishment, with a passion for transforming unexpected materials into luxurious fashion embellishment. Her graduate collection: ‘Medicate Me’ is a high-end ready to wear womenswear collection, that demonstrates the collision of contemporary and traditional approaches to medicine, through the exploration of Native American culture and advances in scientific medicine. The collection draws upon a textile tradition, and transforms it to demonstrate a clinical aesthetic which will appeal to the contemporary consumer. Exploration of new materials, in particular the use of PVC, has allowed for highly creative and innovative textile development through embroidery processes, that reflect on traditional craftsmanship, whilst evoking a clinical and medicinal aesthetic. Transforming materials is becoming an increasingly important aspect of Olivia’s work. This collection saw PVC hose pipes cut, dyed and stitched to become PVC beadwork. Combining this with satin stitch work and screen printed fabric, Olivia likes to work with both traditional aspects to textile design as well more unconventional material. Integral to Olivia’s practice is her illustration and drawing. Specializing in highly detailed hand rendered work, her illustration style is graphic, yet rich in textile inspired texture and detail. Olivia was selected as a finalist for the Nina de Yorke fashion illustration prize, and has also been shortlisted to compete to illustrate for the Maria Luisa website. Olivia was selected for the LCF Press Exhibition 2013 and exhibited a sculptural textile piece which demonstrated the concepts surrounding her Final Collection, as well as showcasing new textile development. MA Fashion Design Technology Menswear

___________________________ About the designer... Designer Hera Wan recently completed her MA in Fashion Design and Technology Menswear at London College of Fashion where she previously obtained her BA qualification in 2012. During her BA study, she worked at the Amsterdam based fashion house of 'Viktor & Rolf' as a menswear design assistant. With a curiosity driven mind and a lifelong passion for fashion, she decided to explore the realms of aesthetics through fashion design. Founder of contemporary menswear label [HE&de Feber] For more information ... http://www.HERAWAN.com info@HERAWAN.com +44 (0) 754 99 56 117 Facebook: @HERAWANDESIGN Twitter: @HERAWANDESIGN _____________________________________________ MA FDT Menswear (2014) - Insecurity : chromatic theories in cut and silhouette. - This project is aimed to explore the under-spoken side of fashion by discovering within myself what evokes my silence and insecurity. By this means, colours, silhouettes while being able to balance a rational difference between both colour and form. It is as well aimed to apply an original approach in pattern cutting methodology combining with the eye for colour of myself in order to set the points for my expedition and eventually strengthen my ability to free myself from bonds of addiction and despair as well as my sense of connection with the wholeness of life and well-being. The concept is based on the experience when I was in adolescence; not being able to fit into the surrounding and not willing to show the difference is a sign of insecurity. As our deepest an innermost thoughts that we dare not share with others can often be released through the medium of art, just like writing a letter to ourselves that is for our eyes only releases our pent-up emotions.(J. McLEOD, pg.115) To understand and overcome the fear of confrontation and expression, it started with a self written poem in experience that recall moments of sentiment. To incorporate the concept into designing a collection, senses like hearing and seeing versus positive and negative space that relate to pattern cutting methodologies will be a major part of the development of form and silhouette. BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Jewellery designer Qian Yang graduated from London College of Fashion (2014) with degree in BA (Hons) in Fashion Jewellery. "The concept of my Final collection was about 'Repair'. And I used second hand porcelains either already broken or I cut the figures, then repair them back into jewellery. This idea mainly inspirited from Japanese gold repair 'Kintsugi', for repair broken ceramics. For this jewellery collection, each chosen porcelain repaired with 24ct gold plated metal. It's a collection full of fun and I added a new meaning and extra preciousness to these ceramics pieces." Lookbook 1

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

With a constructive approach to design, Andy Dunford uses craft-like and unusual methods of reinventing textiles. Starting with traditional silhouettes, he reinterprets these codes, creating a contemporary wardrobe with great attention to detail and the functionality of garments. In particular for this collection, gender has been explored in appropriating womenswear for the modern, sophisticated man. It was during his part-time internship at futuristic, minimalist menswear brand Peir Wu that Andy began to investigate the thought process behind design and the story and personality of dress. Through this industry experience and discovery in both ordinary and extraordinary life, the concept of his designs are formed. He surrounds himself with creatives and takes inspiration from personality. Ever the observer, it is mood and perspective that most interests him. Exploring various uniforms and the concept of wardrobe creates a living costume. Andy looks at the apron as a canvas for living and existing in modern life - his final collection is an examination of how clothes adapt with you and how they can be inspired by one’s seemingly mundane and often overlooked surroundings.
