BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

I am a freelance illustrator & print designer and a recent graduate of London College of Fashion in BA hons Fashion Illustration. I comes from a richly artistic background including fine art, textiles and fashion design and specializes in fashion and portrait imagery. I predominantly work in watercolor and like to play with mixing accuracy and detail with the fluidity of ink. My work is very feminine and painterly with a strong interest in colour. Although my work is mostly hand rendered, I have recently began illustrating using other devices such as the iPad. I has interned with Victoria Grant Millinery and was a runner up in the Zoe Jordan LFW Doodle competition. My work has been exhibited in the Paris College of Art Exhibition November 2013, The Shoreditch Fashion Show April 2013 and Raw Talent 2013. I often illustrates live at events and fashion shows with clients including Harvey Nichols, Triumph International, Juicy Couture, B&H Group and Vauxhall Fashion Scout. I had the honor of being included in the handful of creative females selected by Triumph International to be part of their “Women in Making” campaign for the past two seasons now. Here I act as a brand ambassador where I do a variety of live illustrating at events as well as holding fashion illustration workshops for the press and public. Nature Prevails : Signature Court Shoe - Achillea

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Development

Supporting the journey towards refashioning footwear products into desirable, sustainable pieces was the objective of the final project. With the challenge to refine the rough textural appearance highly associated with sustainable designs, the designer developed a unique range to create modernistic, enticing shoes. The gentle spirit of nature and it's natural cycle is the key inspiration for the collection. Through a combination of traditional natural dyeing techniques with flowers, red cabbage, logwood and other natural ingredients, a range of print and colour variations was produced to develop a collection of unique, exclusive products. The concept produces inevitable fresh, feminine designs supported by a sustainable, unique selling point in footwear fashion. ................................................................................................ Ho Yi Amy Cheng BA Fashion Jewellery Year 3 Student"Elements" Collection Architecture can reflect on people's personalities, thinking and their culture, in this collection, I have explored how Chinese traditional architecture expresses the character, spirit and national ideals of Chinese people. These will be transform into my "Elements" collection, letting others to get to know more about Chinese and make the Chinese citizens to realize who they really are. All my designs are simple and clean, just as China's architecture loves the beauty of group combination and often uses central-axis or a symmetric compact design. No matter which composition method is chosen, Chinese traditional architect is well known for the style of being neutral, easy going, conservative and elegant. Other than that, me in particularly chosen 5 elements (metal, earth, fire, water & wood) and Chinese lattice works to be the main elements in my collection. They both are the important factors and decorations to consider with when designing the Chinese architectures. For further enquiries please contact: amy91cheng@hotmail.com

On the verge

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Development

Creative and highly committed student aiming to broaden my knowledge of the luxury footwear industry, both in design and development. FINAL COLLECTION Taking Pedro Almodóvar’s work as the main inspiration, the following lines from his film ‘Kika’ (1993) outline the collection just as neatly as the perfect eyeliner: “The eyelash widens the eye, gives depth, expression, shape. A girl with almond-shaped eyes is better than one with spaniel eyes. Even the most banal woman looks intelligent, looks sparkling with lashes. Eyelashes are great. I’m all for them, girls!” My final collection represents a journey from basic to luxury, nine simple vibrant red suede shoes inspired by quotidian actions such as the make-up routine women do everyday, not forgetting the gloss of nail polish symbolised in the deep red patent leather and the strong black colour proper of eyebrows and eyelashes. Video Projection. Choreographing Dress.

MA Fashion Curation

■ PROFILE With a background in Communication Studies, during the MA in Fashion Curation I continually questioned how the essence of a garment could be most effectively communicated through the static display of dress. Recognising ‘movement’ as a key element to this communication, my final MA project identified two approaches to ‘revive’ the traditional static display of dress within the museum space: the introduction of performance and new applications of technology. Through this research I have recognised the importance and potential for the museum space as a site for fashion communication. Curatorial and research interests include: New Technology, Fashion Film and Performance. ■ CHOREOGRAPHING DRESS My final project manifested as a guide for the curator and museum to enhance communication within the fashion exhibition. Eight interventions were identified from extensive research as having the potential to actualise a 'choreography of dress', ultimately challenging the static presentation of dress within the museum space. ■ FASHION CURATION'13 Through a collaboration with fellow graduates Fiona McKay and Xenia Capacete-Caballero, we have realised our homogenous outlook on the progression of fashion curation through a multi-media installation, exhibited at the MA13 Exhibition at Victoria House, London in February 2013. The installation included a 3D scan, an immersive fashion film and an integrated online component, which was created around the archive of the collector, Fraser Laing of General Eyewear (formally Arckiv). www.fashioncuration13.com ■ CURATORIAL PROJECTS danielc-s.comwhitelineprojects.com

Final major project - The witch inside me

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Development

Final major project - The witch inside me The concept for this collection is for every women to search for and find the witch inside themselves. We all wish we could have magic powers, the concept questions how and for what purpose we would use them for. Taking into account women’s real opinions and feelings is important for the design process. The purpose of the collection is to reveal the dark and good side in every women. The intent is to make them dream, allow them to evade reality and remind them that they are strong and invincible. MY VISION OF DESIGN My designs tell a story, I want people to think beyond the look of the shoes. They should be able to understand my thinking process to create a deeper relationship between them and my designs. Contact: geraldine.delemme@gmail.com

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Menswear

Perennial Autumn/Winter 14_ Eddy & Vale’s debut collection tells the story of the designers’ working class grandfather charming his way into the Savoy Hotel London to take a bath. The concept explores the highly permeable class division seen within 1950’s England and todays deep denial of ‘class consciousness’ (Moore, 2013) ‘Perennial Autumn/Winter 14’ strives to contend with the current refus(al) of verbal discourse on class’ through an exploration of upper and lower class stereotypes and ideals incorperating a sense of irony which can be argued to be a ‘default mode of contemporary culture today’ (Moore, 2013) ‘Perennial’ embraces traditional eveningwear with a modern reinterpretation to create an Autumn/Winter 14 collection for the 50+ consumer - playing with classic silhouettes and a moody colour palette. Aided by academic text & documentaries the collection examines the tensions seen within the British Class System - specifically in the 1950’s and the current social mobility (or lack of) seen within society today. FdA Fashion Design and Marketing

Before ending up in garment design for high end market and luxury sport segment in particular, I did it the other way round – had a marketing and advertising degree, made a name in event management and brand-building, artist collaborations and PR. Keeping a critical eye on trends and capitalising on them was part of the job. True passion never goes away though; to me, fashion is the way I present myself, the way I see the world, it's vocation and work and play. Thankfully tables have turned. Today I can immerse in every chunk of fashion from fiddling with fabrics, colours, constructing garments and image, to predicting tends to brand-building to promotional concept. Fashion is the part of my personality I had a privilege to finally put together. My final collection is mixture between high end design and sportswear. I wanted to provide women comfortable clothes yet glamour. The design aims to be cutting edge, funny and provocative which reflect into the name of the collection: "Bankrupt" and the used fabrics. I picked up on the functional aspects of LYCRA and pushed these further to incorporate waterproof pockets for phones and MP3 players that take the garments beyond just fashion, giving them depth that I feel sportswear can lack. . The overall look is softened by the organza, which creates sheen and relaxed feel that any woman can feel confidently attractive wearing. BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles

Final year knit student on the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles course at London College of Fashion with an experimental approach to design and ability to knit with a variety of materials. Previous degree in illustration allowed me to exercise strong drawing and conceptual thinking skills, which are continually integrated into my current work which is described as unconventional yet, wearable with a feminine touch. As part of my final major project, the idea of fashioned-objects that grow with the wearer over time was explored drawing inspiration from Western charm jewellery and its variants worldwide. Further research into the concept resulted in a collection of luxurious, knitted art jewellery pieces, which uniquely showcase the idea of building forms through the use of unconventional materials and techniques. These ‘one-off’ pieces are geared towards sophisticated women of any age who enjoy ‘making statements’ through dress which allow their personalities to shine just like a piece of charm jewellery. _________________________________________________ Extra-Curricular Projects: Art of Dress Project Selected along with other students to take part in the 'Art of Dress' project, a traveling exhibition organized by LCF Creative Director Rob Phillips taking place in London, Shanghai, New York, Dubai and Florence. _________________________________________________ Education: September 2011-present [University of the Arts London: London College of Fashion [London, England] [BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles] Specializing in knit Sept 2010-May 2011 [University of the Arts London: Chelsea College of Art and Design] [London, England] [Foundation Diploma in Art and Design] Specialized in Fashion and Textile Design 2004-2008 [Ontario College of Art and Design] [Toronto, Ontario Canada] [Bachelor of Design, Illustration] 2003-2004 [Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning] [Oakville, Ontario, Canada] [Art Fundamentals Certificate] _________________________________________________ Work Experience: uk.linkedin.com/in/lindaawuku _________________________________________________ Credits: "...like a piece of charm jewellery."
