MA Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)
There is a fresh interpretation in Ancient Egyptian Culture in Kay Kwokâs menswear collection-fake eternity.
with the inspiration of Ancient Egyptian Religious and Cosmology-the mysterious story behind Sphinx, the relation between the process of mummy erosion and the system of Ancient Egyptianâs constellation like Ancient culture of Solar,Lunar & Stellar story. the Designer has combined the ideas to create prints by playing shades, light and flame aiming to pushing digital printing into a new area with the twist of classic menswear tailoring.⨠Printed Neoprene fabric is widely used on the collection because of its fleshy hand-feel.â¨â¨
with the uniqueness and freshness of his menswear , the collection was nominated for the Collection of The Year Award 2012.

MA Fashion Curation
My final MA project demonstrates a convergence of my interests in fashion artefacts, personal histories and digital technology together with my background in art history, fashion and architecture. The project is concerned with the meaning and value of digitally representing collections online for the contemporary private collector of fashion artefacts and how this can be accomplished through user-generated Web 2.0 means; in turn viewing the online platforms as the modern Wunderkammer.
In collaboration with fellow graduates Daniel Caulfield-Sriklad and Xenia Capacete, my work has been selected for representation at the London College of Fashion MA â13 Show at Victoria House, London, in February 2013, for which a multi-media installation, including film, 3D scanning and an online component, is being created around the archive of collector, Fraser Laing of General Eyewear (formerly Archiv).
Most recently, I co-curated a display and online exhibition focussing on The Footprints Studio textiles and garments of the 1920s and 30s at Central Saint Martins, with CSM collection curator and Liberty of London archivist, Anna Buruma.
I am currently involved in several curatorial projects, which include:
- British Council and British Fashion Council International Fashion Showcase for the Portuguese Embassy
- National Gallery and London College of Fashion Collaboration - Flight: Drawing Interpretations
- M&S Shwop Shop Installation at the Marble Arch Flagship Store.

ART DECO WITH A TWIST
This collection mixes old with new: It takes a new approach to Art Deco design and blends it with the latest technological elements.
Delan was inspired by his grandfathers carpentry skills and spent much of his teenage years with him in his Swiss workshop watching him bending plywood into smooth, warm curves. These shapes have stayed with him ever since - the influence of which can be seen in the plywood soles; a new component that pushes the traditional boundaries of shoe making. Another important aspect of the project draws upon the influence of Art Deco; a period that represents the transition of the overwhelming shapes of Art Nouveau to the minimal lines of the Bauhaus movement. This design concept is a perfect fit for this collection, where the femininity of the curves accommodates the natural organic shapes that a wearable shoe requires.
This collection brings Art Deco into the present to create a contemporary design vision. The materials wood, leather and aluminium once again blend the past with the present where traditional materials meet the latest mechanical methodologies. A nostalgia for the past is further evoked by the muted autumn colours of the three leathers.

ABOUT RAPHAÃL DELAN:
Even though he made his first pair of bespoke shoes more than twenty years ago, there were some distractions along the way: Raphaël Delan worked as a professional DJ and event organiser eventually becoming marketing consultant for Swiss media group Tamedia Ltd. In 1999, he opened his own record shop which became a defining platform at the forefront of the Swiss music-, event- and club scene.
A decade later, Delan finally pursued his long desired career to design womenâs footwear and moved to London to study MA Fashion Footwear Design at London College of Fashion.
Delanâs collaborative approach won him sponsorship from three companies, including BALLY with whom he developed his final project. He aims to combine design knowledge with his broad understanding of business and brand development.
Raphaël Delan also regularly lectures in Sound Design at the University of Applied Science in Bern, Switzerland.

I am currently working on my Final Major Project in my 3rd year at Cordwainers. This project aims to explore different processes and techniques to inform a collection of footwear. In particular, techniques such as macrame, rigid heddle weaving and leather moulding are being explored to deconstruct the processes involved in making a shoe.

CANTILEVER
Challenging the notions of structure, form and drape, wooden slats are cantilevered from the body and interwoven with synthetic fibres to create weightless, floating forms.
Haute couture is revolutionised by combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, thus creating garments that rely on a separate, detachable component for their construction.
--------
Julie Yeung is a luxury womenswear designer who constantly seeks to fuse haute couture engineering with modern innovation to create dynamic and sophisticated pieces.
She recently assisted in designing the first capsule clothing collection for the Italian brand Leghilå. She previously completed her B.A. Hons at Northumbria School of
Design, alongside internships at Roland Mouret, Erdem and Harrods in London.
With her unique colour sensitivity she continues to develop her design calligraphy by challenging traditional form and function, and introducing a new invisible luxury to fashion.
Question, innovate, create.
