Sony Ericsson LiveView Project - Momentous Cape - The pulses from your music can be felt as pulses through the fabric

BA (Hons) Active Sportswear

Inspired by the human form and movement and with a passion for working within creative teams to tell bold and cultured stories, Jordanna’s final collection pays homage to the world of contemporary dance and to those who live and breathe it. Working as costume designer in collaboration with an international group of artists including contemporary dancer and choreographer Shireen Talhouni from Jordan, electronic composer Emu Mattahara from Japan and film artist and director of photography Shannon Ruddock (Double K Productions) from Australia, Jordanna is currently making a performance look inspired by the laws on motion and Shireen’s unique movements. The team will launch their artistic dance film in May 2013. Jordanna’s final collection includes 2 stage/film performance pieces and a collection of 4 contemporary dance lifestyle looks inspired by intelligent grunge, which are heavily layered and can be stripped away piece by piece as the body warms up during practice. Currently designing part time for Crewroom, (makers of the kit for the GB Olympic Rowing Team) Jordanna also co-runs Pandora’s Thoughts Photography www.pandorasthoughts.com and Holocene Magazine: www.holocenemagazine.com Contact: jordanna@pandorasthoughts.com

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

Namoi Oman is a young designer inspired by all things Powerful. My birth name is Namoi Johnson, Oman is a palindrome of my first name, Namoi spelt backwards without the i (Oman). Which is inadvertently a Homonym of the word Omen. Namoi Oman is a combination of culture and mood. The A/W 2014 collection is stimulated by the unseen perverse world of secret societies; the mood of the collection mirrors the theme of our shadowed governments. From this, fabrics have been carefully selected to juxtapose and embody the idea of transparency and opaqueness, which symbolizes the things we choose to expose, and the things we choose to cover up. The excessive, rebellious attitude of the collection stems from the British subculture of Punk, the dark colour pallet represents this. The form and mind of the woman is constantly reflected whilst in design process for they both go hand in hand. The body is only confortable if the mind confirms this. Namoi Oman designs each garment to ensure the mind feels powerful which intern makes the woman exude power. Namoi Oman's final collection is for the assertive, liberated woman of the 21st century, who seeks for strong, solid, functional clothing to enhance her confidence. Layering is a key feature in every collection; it is essential that there are options and versatility in how the garments are worn. Many Thanks to Pittards world-class leathers for sponsoring me with the Leathers used throughout my final collection http://www.pittards.com

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

I am a fashion print designer, currently exploring her obsession with light and colour. In my current collection I am working in collaboration with Menswear designer Adrien Chen in the creation of a fun and playful collection inspired by dance music, the nightclub setting and the emotions of the dance floor. I develop my work through experimentation with process, including projections, darkroom and a living in the print room. For this collection I have striped down my explorations to the basic colour principals of CMYK in order to explore how layers of different scales of halftone's can produce a diverse range of prints. Taking principals from divisionism you can see how colours can be produced by this simple formula. I see this as just the begining of my explorions into this theme and envisage the development of this for years to come.

London based designer Katharine Anne Taylor graduated from London College of Fashion with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Jewellery in 2013. Throughout her work, studies in to human form, ergonomics, sentimentalism and responsible design and production have provided inspiration. KAT's graduate collection, ‘The comfort of Craftech’, explores her interest in luxury, bespoke products and combines her passion for traditional hand craft and the concept of ‘craftech’; the development of craft with digital processes, to create a commercial collection of contemporary mens accessories. Inspired by the traditional blacksmithing technique of twisting, the collection develops hand forged steel samples in 3D modeling programs Rhino and StudioMax to produce files for 3D printing and CNC machining. Using English Walnut, and industrial manufacturing techniques the collection demonstrates K.A.T’s passion for supporting British industries. info@katharineannetaylor.com PROJECTS Fashion Jewellery design for Save the Children Charity, 'Born to Shine' Campaign http://www.ecouterre.com/london-fashion-students-turn-silly-bandz-into-bespoke-jewelry-for-save-the-children/ http://www.handbag.com/fashion/news/a424412/london-college-of-fashion-teams-up-with-save-the-children.html http://housepr.com/london-college-of-fashion-creates-bespoke-‘born-to-shine’-jewellery-with-save-the-children/ BLOGS http://blogs.arts.ac.uk/fashion/2012/04/12/jewellery-designer-featured-in-fashion-film/

BA (Hons) Fashion: Design & Technology (Top Up)

My passion for tailoring has to do with the construction and the making process; to see a 2D development turn into 3D and be able to understand how it was done. When designing, my main focus lies in function and practicality, I want my garments to have a purpose that goes beyond being aesthetically pleasing. I tend to be very minimalistic with my designs which I believe comes from my Scandinavian culture. When finishing I would like to pursue a career within costume for theater and film as a part of the making team, however, I am looking forward to any challenge within any fashion related industry I come across.

Mood board

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)

This project is a redefinition of the gentleman in the 21st century, to include aspects of masculinity that have been excluded in the conventional definition, such as gay subculture, and the wild, playful desires of the boy child. Inspired by the post-colonial expression of the tweed suite in traditional South African isiXhosa initiation ceremony, I explore the possibilities to overcome the tensions between tradition and contemporary expression that are experienced by young men everywhere. Having direct historical reference to the British Tweed aesthetic, as well as the traditional cultural elements of African aesthetic, I attempt to reflect these tensions, and possibilities for transformation in my collection that plays with colour, texture, proportion, and the artisanal deconstruction and rendition of the tweed tailored suite. All the tweed suiting I designed and wove as part of the project and created them in collaboration with an artisanal tweed mill in London, called London Cloth. The research for this project used a variety of different methods that include, but not limited to, site visits to South Africa, interviews, and reference materials from historical archives and libraries in South Africa and the UK. http://timothywangmenswear.blogspot.co.uk/
