New Age movement was born in the late 19th century, based on the idea promoted by Madame Blavatsky and the Theosophists; that there is a universal wisdom tradition uniting the spiritual/scientific teachings of both East and West. Most new age ideas derive from ancient and perennial wisdom teachings – the Vedas, Hinduism, Yoga, the Mahayana traditions, Buddhism, Islam, Ancient Maya and religions of Native People all over the world. The holistic ideas behind the new age movement are alive amongst young people today, colliding into further movements and celebrated by various events globally. People that are part of the contemporary new age movement tend to be interested in traveling. A sleeping bag would be one of the main items carried by them since it’s easily fold-able. Therefrom comes the decision to marry the ideas of re-incarnation, traveling, and sustainability (upcycling and deconstruction of sleeping bags).

Dress rehearsal for internal show

MA Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)

‘We listen to music with our muscles…we tap our feet, we ‘keep time’, hum, sing along or ‘conduct’ music, our facial expressions mirroring the rises and fall, the melodic contours and feelings of what we’re hearing.’ Musical Philosopher, Nietzsche Having researched, in depth, in to the brain activity and physical reactivity of an individual to musical tone and structure, Chelsea has developed a collection that responds to these findings. Using her research into sound -> colour synaesthesia and the interpretation of musical notation into mathematical forms she has created garments that wrap and envelope the body; conveying the comfort and nostalgic feeling that is felt for most when listening to specific musical compositions. She has kept the silhouette relaxed and clean in aesthetic, whilst having incorporated varying textures and pops of colour through the choice of fabric and yarn. These have added a sophistication and luxurious aesthetic to the otherwise slouchy, loose fit of the garments. Final Photographic Line up

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

"Never too old to play dress up" was inspired by memories of my grandmother and her eclectic style, love of colour, print, texture and all things maximal. From these memories I began an investigation into age and it's effect on style, identity and image. This took me on a journey of exploration into some inspiring characters for whom despite their age everyday is an opportunity to play dress up. To be expressive visually and push boundaries that come with age and stereotype. To have the confidence and audacity to be completely themselves and only themselves, why be anything else? BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

Louise O'Keeffe is a London based Fashion Illustrator from the Highlands of Scotland. She comes from a fine art, textiles and design background with a love for traditional hand rendered artwork. I am very interested in character and identity and try to portray a sense of personality through my work. My illustrations could be described as a beautiful mess with a moody feeling to it, as I like to mix accuracy and detail with the fluidity of watercolour and ink. I have experience illustrating for the Future Vintage Magazine and Vauxhall Fashion Scout where I sketched live at the London Fashion Week shows. I have also been collaborating with The House of Scarlet jewellery designer to develop illustrated surface patterns which will be transferred onto dresses. A collection of my work will also be exhibited in the Shoreditch Fashion Show in end of April 2013. “I am a passionate and enthusiastic illustrator whose love is for drawing. For as long as I can remember, art has always been my way of communicating my deepest feelings and emotions. Drawing for me is a therapeutic process, I am just lucky enough to pursue it as a career” I am always open to collaborations and new projects. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. Thank you for taking the time, I hope you saw something you liked. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)

(****Please mention the name of ownership for all images as the title of each photo above if you want to share or publish online, thanks you;)) A small mens collection which makes use of series of hand movement especially hug to express how the (dis) connection between people to people and the loneliness by my experience. Some keywords have become the main points of my collection. “Hugs”, “Communication”, “Interesting”, “Fun”, “flourishing”, “a bit implication of sex”, “comfort”, “to be protected”, “to be surrounded”, ‘to cherish"“warmth”, “memory”, "happiness", “childhood”, “lifetime”, ”Let go”, etc. Interaction and communication are the action to express love and depart from loneliness between human beings. 'Hands" is the key point of the collection as very figurative object to express this abstract idea. Moreover, this small collection is developed like a short story of life. The 6 outfits represent their own story and meaning respectively. In order to make people feel warm and hugged, some of the clothes would be padding and the hands (gloves) would be adding wad to make it looks puffy as childish soft toys. Some pieces are also to keep repeating a certain part (For example, sleeves) to make people feeling full and not alone or enlarge the scale by magnifying a certain part on clothes, which makes people feel a sense of relief. Everybody needs love, Don't you? BA (Hons) Fashion Contour

Fashion Designer Lingerie Designer Accomplished at creative design and pattern cutting skills who believes in lingerie is all about self-expression which can combine both functional and sexuality and makes the best of woman’s looks, whilst controlling the body. My work is all about communicative power of contour with strong philosophy, to consider the flow around the body to demonstrate 'innovation' with sculptural paneling and simplified lines. My work is also inspired by oriental mood (both traditional culture and strong color palette) which combined extreme femininity and glamour with power to accentuate the beauty of the female body. The inspiration of my collection comes from an ancient style of Chinese calligraphy called Seal Characters so that my designs always go with abstracted lines mix with the geometric, modern structure silhouette and minimal clean-cut look to express the unique beauty of both Oriental and Western women, to make them liberated, sophisticated and powerful.
