BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Geo Deco Collection For the 'Geo Deco Collection' I was inspired by light. There's a great energy as the sun shines in the day and when lights glow in the dark. I'm fascinated by light, and as it moves how it changes shapes, reflects and refracts. As the sun shines through coloured glass, its a delight as the hues of colours flood in its moving path. The sun mixes with water and oils to create spectrums of colour and It makes us feel happy, alive and awake... I use layers of different coloured light conducting perspex, mixed with mirrors, brass and in some pieces, LEDs. As the Jewellery moves, light catches the layers of material absorbing the lights energy, enhancing the colours as they conduct and glow brightly catching the eye. I work hard with the materials to get a great finish, to give it a polished, shiny, glassy effect and top it with brass to enrich and make it shine golden. The jewellery collection are individual pieces of art... They are structured and made to capture and entertain its audience. I like the pieces to have extra dimensions. The Jewellery is new and innovative, yet people connect as they see and find familiarities and memories within. pikkalili@live.co.uk GALLERIES MOCO LOCO Galleries http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2012/10/15/gallery-beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery.php THE ARAM GALLERY http://www.thearamgallery.org/next/ XHIBIT 2011 http://www.boidus.co.uk/?p=2755 DESIGN CATWALK http://www.designcatwalk.com/lili-colley-enlighted-jewellery/ SEE/SAW/SEEN http://www.seesawseen.co.uk/ DeTnK http://www.detnk.com/node/12050 DESIGN WEEK http://www.designweek.co.uk/whats-on/demystifying-beautiful-objects/3035438.article http://mocoloco.com/galleries/gallery/beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery/ PRESS DRAPERSonline http://www.drapersonline.com/blogs/unzipped/lcfs-college-shop-not-a-pencil-sharpener-in-sight/5041799.article Londonist http://londonist.com/2012/10/today-london-college-of-fashion-shop-opens.php GLAMUK http://glam.co.uk/2012/09/its-back-to-college-time/ COMPANY Magazine http://www.company.co.uk/fashion/news/london-college-fashion-pop-up-shop LDN Fashion http://www.ldnfashion.com/london-fashion-news/london-college-of-fashions-pop-up-college-shop/ Timeout Magazine WGSN http://wgsn.tumblr.com/post/30987031794 Elle UK.com http://m.elleuk.com/fashion/shopping-blog/the-lcf-college-shop-returns Viora Magazine http://www.vioromagazine.it/photogallery/ Dew Magazine http://www.dewmagazine.com/issuu/06newworld.html http://elegiac-circus.tumblr.com/post/31019347447/lili-colley http://pinterest.com/thedefiant/magazine-volume-1-5-future-bioculture-aw12-ss13/ - Style Bubble http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/shoes-n-things.html · Tatler.com Catwalk review with emphasis on VIP and Celebs http://www.tatler.com/bystander/events/2012/june/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show#/7516/image/1 - Vogue.co.uk http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/06/29/london-college-of-fashion-ba-show - Evening Standard http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/fashion/all-the-trimmings-london-fashion-graduates-prove-they-have-a-bright-future-7898848.html?origin=internalSearch - Fashion156.com http://www.fashion156.com/collections/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-show-2012/ · Style Bubble Susie Lau’s influential fashion blog– Catwalk highlights: http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/hackney-house-antics.html · Catwalk Queen Catwalk show review: http://www.catwalkqueen.tv/2012/07/london_college_6.html · Dash Magazine online Catwalk show review http://www.fashiondash.net/?p=3226 · Adorn Girl Fashion Blog: http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-exhibition-2012/ Exhibition review http://adorngirl.com/robert-wun-fashion-designer/ spotlight on Robert Wun http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-catwalk-2012/ Catwalk show review http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-2012-catwalk-backstage/ Backstage images · Luxsure French luxury magazine: http://www.luxsure.fr/2012/07/01/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show-2012/ · Fashion Bite (Fashion blog) Catwalk show review: http://fashionbite.co.uk/2012/07/04/london-college-of-fashion-runway-show-class-of-2012/#more-11721 · Better Never Than Late (blog) Image Gallery of Backstage at Catwalk Show: http://bntl.co.uk/2012/07/03/backstage-lcf-press-show/ · Fashion Insight (Trade publication) Catwalk review http://fashioninsightfeatures.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/london-college-of-fashion-ba-season.html · EStyler Magazine Image gallery of all designers: http://estylermagazine.com/interviews · The Upcoming (fashion and news blog) Catwalk show review: http://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2012/07/02/london-college-of-fashion-ba-and-fda-show/ · Now Fashion Catwalk show image gallery: http://nowfashion.com/28-06-2012-london-college-of-fashion-2012-part-1-live-event-event-2256.html

BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Born in Israel, Liron Kliger is a London based jewellery designer who graduated a BA (HON) in Jewellery Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion. Liron developed a passion for jewellery design whilst completing a foundation in fashion design course at West London College, Liron developed a love for raw materials and desire to create unique pieces encompassing the form and essence of the material used. The primary influence on Liron’s work (apart from the raw materials) evolved from years spent living and travelling in cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Tel Aviv. Liron was exposed cultural idiosyncrasies which in turn influenced the way in which she combines / uses materials and their subsequent adaptation to her needs. Liron’s latest project developed from a fascination with snakeskin and infatuation with catwalk pieces; motivating her to create her own interpretation via snakeskin inspired bangles. Liron’s previous catwalk projects include a large feathered neck piece and oversized dice jewellery. In the foundation year of her BA Liron was awarded third place in the UK in a competition run by the Metro newspaper for her creation of a jewellery body suit utilising recycled materials. [Work Experience] Felicity Brown Studio Intern July 2012 - September 2012 Erdem Sampling Room Intern January 2012 - March 2012 Ozwald Boateng Studio Intern December 2011 Roland Mouret Studio Intern July 2011 - September 2011 [Final Year Collaboration] ‘Play becomes party - party becomes work - work becomes play‘ ~ Bauhaus Motto A final year collaboration between menswear student, Adrien, and surface textile student, Antonia. Inspired by the Bauhaus spirit, they started with the motto in mind, then delved into their own unique background to search for things that would best define themselves. ‘Two crazy minds. One passionate menswear collection.’ For the pattern cutting side, Adrien developed the shape and silhouette by playing around the Bauhaus geometric aesthetic and reinventing the traditional Chinese patterns. Simple and playful are the frame of mind and the way for the printing design to shine. For the printing design side, Antonia combined the intensity of Bauhaus painting style and the excitement of light and music from her clubbing adventure to come up with strong and fanatical printing design. With both of them focusing on what excites them most and paying attention to each other’s progress, they realised the the strength of collaboration and created a unique printed menswear collection. ‘No longer can anything exist in isolation. We perceive every form as the embodiment of an idea, every piece of work as a manifestation of our innermost selves. Only work which is the product of inner compulsion can have spiritual meaning.‘ Walter Gropius

Having bold and graphic design aesthetic, this collection aims to visually reflect the idea of taking things out of their originally sensitive and controversial contexts in order to create new ideas. By providing visuals of The Third Reich uniforms, graphic design and German Folk clothing, the collection tries to propose a concept, in which people look at things without automatically trying to connect them to their primarily negative connotations. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

A surface textiles designer specialising in screen printed and digitally printed textiles with a passion for colour.

Interest lies in creating textiles through traditional screen printing and dyeing techniques with a modern twist using watercolours, drawings and computer aided designs. The final major project explores the balance between nature and manmade, high-end fashion and the neglect through abandoned and decaying structures. Inspired by the physical, emotional and the power balance of decay and how they ‘tenaciously asserting themselves despite being overlooked by the majority of passers-by’ (Landy 2003). Creating a juxtaposition, as abandoned structures are seen as derelict and ruined but contain an element of beauty and fragility. As nature has invaded over such a long period of time the decaying process has created something delicate and unique. _EDUCATION_ London College of Fashion Ba (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles 2010-2013 London College of Fashion Foundation Diploma in Art and Design 2009-2010 _WORK EXPERIENCE_ Freelance Print Designer_ Mirjam Roudén Design Intern April-May 2011 Giles Sample Room Intern January-May 2012 Anna Sui Pattern Making Intern July-September 2012 _AWARDS ACHIEVEMENTS_ Chelsea Flower show t-shirt competition Runner up Annual membership for The Royal Horticultural Society _SKILLS_ Adobe_ InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Screen printing_ discharge and devore Dyeing Digital Printing Drawings and technical drawings Pattern Cutting _CREDITS_ _FAUNA + FLORA_ Print_ Devika Rattu Dress_ Sofia Ilmonen Creative Director_ Rob Philips Photographer_ Kasia Wozniak Models_ Sophia at Select and Katharina at M+P Beauty_ Pace Chen Nails_ Lauren Michelle Pires _FLORAL DECAY_ Photographer_ GMGP Model_ Sophie at Select Beauty_ Pace Chen

FdA Cordwainers Fashion Accessory Design

The Global Commuter collection was inspired by Craig Green, a designer at London Fashion Week who, on his models, used painted abstract raw bits of headwear with black clothes. This combination of the natural and the mundane in a stylized setting led into the idea of camouflage. Influences came also from Shaun Samson, Hussein Chalayan, Smythsons, Lanvin, Raf Simons, and Stone Island brand, particularly for their use of performance materials. Other visual research influences include the Prada nylon range (in particular, their fabrics) and Smythsons travel wallets. It is designed for Spring/Summer 2014 and is an accessory a Global Commuter might use. It would be part of the lifestyle of those who use international travel in their day-to-day existence. francescasmith@live.co.uk www.francescasmith.co.uk Francesca Smith's work explores the capabilities and juxtaposition of combining hard materials with soft textiles within a fashion jewellery context. She explores a variety of materials from woods to fabrics, to metals to plastics. Exploring the possibilities of applying alternative materials to a fashion jewellery context. Francesca Smith's BA graduate collection:"I have always been fascinated by modern social attitudes towards remembering the dead and how people deal with the loss of a loved one. By looking at the extravagant rituals and customs of the Victorian era and the funerary practices of its people, my intent was to produce a collection, which confronts people with the idea of positive remembrance. By exploring the designs of Victorian jewellery and cemetery art, I sort to recreate classic designs using modern technologies. This contrast reflects the concept of current attitudes towards death compared to that of the Victorians. Using 3D design software and the process of rapid prototyping, I created nylon components embodying elements of Victorian mourning design. I chose to combine these elements with human hair and fabric to create a material juxtaposition, which reflects my design style of using hard materials with soft textiles." Researching how chemical substances were originally used medicinally, but now widely taken for recreational use, I looked at today’s underground music scene. Taking inspiration ranging from the early Opium Dens. The vivid hues of the high and the dark greys of the lows gave me a colour distortion which is reflected in my silk digital prints. ± AW/13 Collection Lookbook DIRECTION - Holley Potts PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR & MAKEUP - Marie Bruce MODEL - Rachel Christianos STYLIST - Rita Shi ± AW/13 Collection Lineup PHOTOGRAPHY - Hanna Hillier HAIR & MAKEUP - Amber Pitkin MODEL - Amber Pitkin ± Richard Nicoll May 2012 - July 2012 Giles Deacon November 2011 - March 2012 Selfridges: Marketing Department July 2007 - August 2007 ± The Shoreditch Fashion Show 2013 Photography by Vytautas Dranginis Interview - http://thesavvydresser.wordpress.com/interview/

"Never too old to play dress up" was inspired by memories of my grandmother and her eclectic style, love of colour, print, texture and all things maximal. From these memories I began an investigation into age and it's effect on style, identity and image. This took me on a journey of exploration into some inspiring characters for whom despite their age everyday is an opportunity to play dress up. To be expressive visually and push boundaries that come with age and stereotype. To have the confidence and audacity to be completely themselves and only themselves, why be anything else?
