BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design & Development

For our University final major project I created FR&&K. The brand supports freedom in all its aspects and to do so collaborate with well estabilished brands to reinforce their message in fashion. The first shocking collaboration is with Durex. Working for Adidas and Vivobarefoot has made me question and re-think the concept of footwear. Humans have evolved for hundreds of thousands of years without the need for footwear. Shoes originated to fulfil the need to protect feet from heat, cold and other hazardous conditions that could cause injury. My understanding of footwear has reinforced my belief that the foot should be afforded maximum protection possible without compromising the foot anatomy. Studies show that the foot benefits by having the least amount of material possible separating it from the ground, so that the body can pass as much information as possible to the brain. Vivobarefoot shoes mimic the natural way of walking and running, therefore, improving feeling, posture, circulation and balance. These principles inspired the realization of my final collection. Barefoot shoes are all about promoting natural feeling, freedom and fun, thus the same can be said about Durex**. The feet and the genitals have among the highest concentration of nerve endings in the body, which are all interacting continuously with the brain. There are 7000 nerve endings in the feet alone and these receptors relay important information to the brain about the texture and temperature of the floor. The intention of this project is to generate a greater awareness of what natural walking and running could do to improve our lives. Seen from the outside the shoes look like trainers, but inside the inner construction embraces the foot in a seamless hug around the heel, while one of the thinnest outsoles in the market is hidden underneath. +44 (0)78 26514906 +39 349 8549520 adrianopiccinini@gmail.com *Durex is a trademark of Reckitt Benckiser. BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

Jessica Hearnshaw is an Accessories Designer based in London who's focus is around the design and craftsmanship of high quality conceptual leather goods. This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance ----------------------------------------------- Credits: Images 1 - 5: Art Director: Benjamin Thapa, Photographer: Giulia Zucchetti, Model: Max @ Profile, Stylist: Irene Manicone, Makeup: Nichola Mai Images 6 - 9: Art Direction & Photographer: Benjamin Thapa Image 10 - 11: Photography: Anthony John Sayer Creative Director: Rob Phillips Beauty: Pace Chen Model: Rosemary Banks

Lingerie specialist focused on brand and design. Graduate collection is inspired by Tereza’s character in the novel ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’ by Milan Kundera. The range tells the story of her moments of ‘lightness’ and ‘weight’ through use of fabric, silhouette and colour. Bone castings grow out from seam lines that alter the body’s silhouette, exploring the answer to Tereza’s question when she wonders, “if various parts of her body began to grow and shrink and [she] no longer looked like herself, would she still be Tereza?”. Enthusiastic about creating a brand identity that is relevant and offers an experience - telling a story through products that focus on detailing, particularly using hand finished techniques, to create appropriate yet unexpected designs for the target market and consumer. Previously worked on industry projects during studies, both in commercial and luxury areas, including participating in the Triumph Inspiration Award and winning first prize for a swimwear collection designed for Gilly Hicks. Lived in Switzerland working in the Brand Management department at Triumph International during placement year, working across a variety of areas including range planning, product development and marketing communications. Also has experience in lingerie retail working at luxury label Myla London, using product knowledge and doing fittings to meet customer needs and wants. Empire of the Clouds is a dramatic futuristic representation of aviation achievements, throughout the past, present and future. Inspired by the true design innovation and achievement from machines of flight throughout the entirety of the concept. Focusing on model making to gain a unique perspective and develop an understanding of the overwhelming human drive, almost obsession, to achieve what we cannot do naturally, to fly. Passionate about research Buchanan has a meticulous attitude towards uncovering all elements in a concept. In this collection it enabled a distinctive perspective to a large subject, creating a concept based around model making and accessibility of a globally collective dream. Through innovative use of materials and conceptual pattern cutting, Buchanan has achieved striking shapes and confident structural lines, reflecting the impressive machines that inspired. Fascination with the utterly indescribable, near magical, machines that are so integrated, ordinary and standardised, motivated a need to highlight what a truly extraordinary achievement flight, both modern and historical actually is. The simple fact that more is known about space and our surrounding atmosphere than the depths of our own oceans, demonstrates so clearly what a shared and magnificent dream flight has, and always will be. BREIZH COLLECTION The AW13 Collection combines the heritage of Brittany with the modern techniques of shoe making. BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

A curious and diligent designer who takes inspiration from many sources including life experiences, anatomy, the fantastical and the unknown. The aim of lindseytait design is to use fashion and its influence as a channel to raise awareness of social issues and to make a difference. The brand is dedicated to having a social responsibility as well as producing superior quality crafted pieces that are one of a kind and make a statement. Striving for perfection, attention to detail is key as well as finding new and exciting ways to create, while incorporating traditional artisan techniques to produce beautifully finished products. Looking to modern technology to influence design and to push the boundaries of ‘fashion’, lindseytait design hopes to bring accessory design to new levels of what can be achieved. The graduate collection ‘skin deep’ is influenced by the issue of self-harm: the stigma associated with it and the restriction of the body to prevent harming. It was key that the pieces should be beautiful as well as provocative in order to raise awareness, yet still be products that can be worn with attraction rather than the ‘ugliness’ of self-harm. Using an intricate cherry-blossom pattern laser etched into the lining (which sits close against the skin) is significant as the cherry-blossom flower represents feminine strength and sexuality. This soft and beautiful leather etched lining is juxtaposed against the strong VegTan exterior that provides a shield-like mould around various parts of the body. Each piece is fully functional, despite being conceptual rather than commercial. Born in a small town in Northern Ireland, Lindsey showed a strong passion for art and craft from a young age, which soon flourished into a love for fashion design. While completing her Foundation Diploma, Lindsey’s keen attention to detail and interest in accessories became apparent, leading to her relocation to London to attend London College of Fashion. Lindsey intends to remain in London to continue growing as a designer and to also expand her knowledge of fashion design and construction into apparel – although her main focus still remains on creating innovative and provocative fashion accessories. 'The Pigman'(2013): MA13 Performance during LFW

MA Fashion Artefact

----------------------------------------------- A continued journey to inquire about what constitutes Fashion in the name of creativity. My practice aims to emphasize the challenge on how fashion (with & without context) is perceived with a narrow perspective, and also to celebrate its art. Furthermore, my creative expedition aims to formulate a system of platform that inherits Freud’s psychoanalysis. And the archival system embodies a re-interpreted theory in my own understanding as principal elements. To achieve what I envisage, I have created Artefacts that represent the key elements to my internal inquiries. And the Artefacts were incorporated as physical stimuli in a performance set to juxtapose my queries about the unconscious effect of objects, and its effect in drawing practice. The performance is hosted by the ‘Pigman’- a representative figure during my previous degree’s final project “What is Fashion Illustration?” - and the set employs both ego & alter ego in human form, disguised in pig masks. First set of works is from MA Fashion Artefact (2013), ‘The Pigman’ Second set of works are from BA(Hons) Fashion Illustration (2010), ‘What is Fashion Illustration?’ ------------------------------------------------------ Looking for project commission & collaboration. https://www.facebook.com/noronoropigman www.noronoro.co.uk info@noronoro.co.uk ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/university-arts-london-partner-zone/fresh-prints MPDclick Issue.21: http://www.mpdclick.com/mudpie/magazines/issue28/issue_28.pdf Fashion 156.com: http://archive.fashion156.com/previous-blog/Doyeon+Noro+Kim/1653/ Lanciatrendvisions: http://www.lanciatrendvisions.com/en/article/noro-kim-br-illustrates-art LCF Alumni profile page: http://www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/student-stories/noro-kim-illustration/ Creative Boys Club: http://www.creativeboysclub.com/fashion-illustrations-by-doyeon-noro-kim --------------------------------------------------------- Photography by Maryjane Neumeister & Daniel Jon

MA Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

The main discussion in this project is “ The inability of humans to stay still.” I wanted to express a concept about returning to one’s original nature, looking at nomads, their life and the nature power of making clothes from a new angle, with an idea about time and memory. The nomadic life style, especially in Central Asia, is one focus in my research. Nomads’ everyday dress, accessories and daily essentials, the places they live and their hand-weaving technique also work as design references in this project. “Time & Memory” went through the collection construction. This idea is shown mainly through the manufacturing methodology in the project. Edges of the fabrics were loosed naturally during the manufacturing process. The seaming methodology is complex. I needed to use hand stitching in the whole collection in order to present the natural power of making clothes. Traces of machines are not seen in the project. Fringes were created in some parts of the seams on the garments. Yarn-dyed woven fabrics are important materials in the project and an organic colour scheme is used to emphasize the concept Contact: info@renlisu.com http://renlisu.tumblr.com/ http://www.renlisu.com/ Image Credit/ Photographer/ Raymond Tan

"The local outsider" The story starts from a 75 minute long awareness-raising documentary about Lao Hmong and my personal feelings after a Paris vacation in 2012. "Hunted Like Animals" was filmed by refugees who fled from Laos to Thailand. It explains what the military inside of Laos did to them, while they were running and hiding, half starved, from the attacks by the soldiers ~ over 30 years after the Vietnam War ended Link:http://www.sommerfilms.org/documentaries/Hmong/index.php Have you ever been trapped by Roma in a gold ring scam? I became concerned about the reasons behind it after I encountered more than eight Roma scam artists in one day. I started to reflect upon the poor living standards, negative social stereotypes and even enforced removal from their homes that this community suffers from. In order to express my concerns and raise public awareness "The local outsider" was born. A collection to promote ethnic harmony by increasing the profile of two oppressed minorities - Laos Hmong and EU-Roma. I have recently collaborated with Zoe Sterling for the Final Major Project photo shoot. Zoe's collection is based on 60s nostalgia and children's artwork. Holley Potts BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear http://showtime.arts.ac.uk/HolleyPotts WEBSITE: www.holleypotts.com holley.potts@hotmail.co.uk As a designer, I feel that most art forms should be integrated with practicality and this should also apply to fashion. SS/13 - Combining Fashion Illustration with Fashion Design. Looking at Marching Cubes (a computer generated algorithm) and contrasting this with nature and old cartoon sketches formed my illustrations. Designing a set of five tops; same cut, different fabric, I overlaid my illustrations on top to synchronise these together. ± SS/13 COLLECTION TOPS + ILLUSTRATION - Holley Potts PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Scarlett Burton STORM MODEL - Annie Walker-Trafford STYLIST - Elle Baron VIDEOGRAPHER - Calvin Hayes ± AW/13 - Researching how chemical substances were originally used medicinally, but now widely taken for recreational use, I looked at today’s underground music scene. Taking inspiration ranging from the early Opium Dens. The vivid hues of the high and the dark greys of the lows gave me a colour distortion which is reflected in my silk digital prints. ± AW/13 COLLECTION LOOKBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY - Tamzin Haughton HAIR + MAKEUP - Marie Bruce MODEL - Rachel Christianos STYLIST - Rita Shi ± AW/13 COLLECTION LINE UP PHOTOGRAPHY - Hanna Hillier HAIR + MAKEUP - Amber Pitkin MODEL - Amber Pitkin ± INTERNING Richard Nicoll May 2012 - July 2012 Giles Deacon November 2011 - March 2012 Selfridges: Marketing Department July 2007 - August 2007 ± ACHIEVEMENTS The Shoreditch Fashion Show 2013 Photography by Vytautas Dranginis ± FEATURED Bright Young Things 2013 - http://www.clothesshowlive.com/page.cfm/link=130 W Magazine - http://weareselecters.com/2013/04/holley-potts-aw13-collection/ Kaltblut Magazine - http://www.kaltblut-magazine.com/april-illyj-and-pipa/ Coco Magazine - http://issuu.com/cocomagazine/docs/sept1coco Nou Magazine - http://www.noumagazine.com/you-say-ball-i-say-lets/ The Mark Magazine - http://www.themarkmag.com/marktorial/no-67-modernised-mod/ The Savy Dresser - http://thesavvydresser.wordpress.com/interview/

Blog: http://charleybishop.com About: "with love, Undine" With love, Undine; Charley Bishops degree collection embraces the spirit of contradiction exploring the story of Undine, the 18th century inspirational water spirit. A tragic romantic story representing a strong endearing woman. The collection supports sustainability and embraces innovation through the use of Salmon Leather; a bi product which is strong, soft to touch and has the element of surprise. This unique fabric is laser cut with an intricate wave detail, the raw edges and the intricate laser cut details add a further dimension to the texture and married alongside delicate Chantilly laces creates intricate, delicate pieces with a difference. Please contact me if you would like to feature any of my pieces in your work/publications or if you have any queries.

Having bold and graphic design aesthetic, this collection aims to visually reflect the idea of taking things out of their originally sensitive and controversial contexts in order to create new ideas. By providing visuals of The Third Reich uniforms, graphic design and German Folk clothing, the collection tries to propose a concept, in which people look at things without automatically trying to connect them to their primarily negative connotations, but instead look at their visual impact. | E D U C A T I O N | BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear London College of Fashion 2012-2013 FdA Fashion Design Technology: Designer Pattern Cutter London College of Fashion 2010-2012 BTEC National Diploma: Art & Design (Fashion & Clothing) Lewisham College 2008-2010 | W O R K E X P E R I E N C E | Student Ambassador Central Saint Martins July 2013 - present Design & pattern cutting assistant tutor Design & Textiles Academy, Brady Arts Centre April - July 2013 Design & pattern cutting assistant tutor Design & Textiles Academy in association with Burberry, Brady Arts Centre August 2012 Studio intern Maria Grachvogel August - October 2011 Studio Intern Derek Lawlor October - December 2009 | F R E E L A N C E P R O J E C T S | Pattern Cutting & sampling Laura Berens Baker Dance costumes design and manufacturing Play: Orpheus & Eurydice, One myth two worlds | E X T R A | Featured in The Lab Magazine online 2013 http://thelabmagazine.com/2013/06/21/estella/ Featured in LCF Annual 2013 http://issuu.com/london_college_of_fashion/docs/sdt-annual-2013 Showed at London Alternative Fashion Week 2009 & 2010 Finalist at Fashion Awareness Direct design competition 2009 Bronze & Gold Arts Awards 2008-2009 | C O N T A C T | Email: kristina@kristinaegle.com Website coming soon 07540761623 | C R E D I T S | British Fashion Council: Photography, James Rees Creative Direction, Rob Phillips Beauty, Pace Chen Nail Art, Lauren Michelle Pires Model, Alina at Select Loobook: Photography, Sara Magdi Bayoumi Hair & Make Up, Suze Smethurst Model, Elspeth at MOT Models The Lab Magazine online: Photography, Anya Holdstock Styling, Olimpia Liberti Hair & Make up, Adele Sanderson Model, Estella at Next
