BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Alexandra Druzhinin is a London based jewellery designer. A 2013 graduate of London College of Fashion, with a degree in BA (Hons) in Fashion Jewellery and a winner of LCF Off Catwalk award. Also a qualified goldsmith jeweller she creates avant-garde and original jewellery and accessories in a variety of materials such as leather, Perspex, resin, base and fine metals. Alexandra was commissioned to create a collection of silver and gold nose rings and brass insects for fashion designer Fyodor Golan which was shown at London Fashion Week AW2012. Her graduate collection was inspired by the cupolas of Moscow's St.Basil's Cathedral and the art of paper engineering. The collection is made out of laser cut Perspex and metal. Each piece has a built in mechanical element which allows the jewellery to change its form. Alexandra is currently participating in Triumph Makers Collective Campaign. The Graduate Collection SS13 was displayed at Future Map Design Exhibition at LCC, and AW13 collection is currently on display at Maison Triumph in Covent Garden. email: alexdruzh@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alexandra-Druzhinin/151328091629598 Press: http://culthub.com/2012/02/london-fashion-week-aw12-13-fyodor-golan/ http://fashionbite.co.uk/2012/02/17/london-fashion-week-day-1-fydor-golan-bora-aksu-so-far/ http://www.ldnfashion.com/london-fashion-week/fyodor-golan-autumn-winter-2012/ http://blogs.arts.ac.uk/fashion/2013/09/09/a-glittering-gala-for-the-future-of-fashion/

8 SOLO DESIGNER QUWADA TAI HAIR LING YU TAI MODEL GERTA/ VALERIA ( FIRSTMODEL) MAKE-UP OONAH ANDERSON MUSIC ALOÏS YANG PHOTOGRAPHER TING CHENG CAMERA BEN O'CONNOR CAMERA ASSISTANTS VIGINIA/CODY/LIU KA WA VIDEO http://quwada.com/empty/solo-8-video/ This paper outlines my rationale, aim, concept, methodology, critically theory and other aspects that constituting my final project. The Cold Thought – Black, White & Red series comprise ten sets of garments that are ingeniously and originally designed to meet the taste of a special consumer group. Black, white and red, three relatively contrastive colours are used as the palette of this project. The limited use of colours is considered as one of the salient features of this project. Black and white are three basic colours whereas red adds vibrancy to the overall tonality of this project. All of these referred works are somehow associated with fashion minimalism and deconstruction. Another particular character that distinguishes my project from others is that the application of doll model. This inspiration comes from several contemporary conceptual designs and theatrical fashion shows. They introduce dolls as miniatures of actual human. Along with the human models, doll models enforce the peculiarity of the entire project. Hereby, this project is aiming to challenge the existing ideals that founded by innovative designers as well as creating ‘New Minimalism’ in the fashion world. This project is locating itself in a more academic position, for it offers an innovating stage-like atmosphere. It targets to provide new possibilities for people with infrequent or unusual tastes and temperament in fashion. This potential consumer group is covering a wide range, from singers to artists, from fashion celebrities to fashion editors; but all of them are sharing something in common: they want to show their personal identities via what they wear, they want to be dazzling and show their unique taste in fashion via what they wear. Such as the famous singer Bjork, her concert is always more like a drama with her Gothic style costumes. Thus there would be no duplication of each sets of the collection. Whereas they can be reproduced regarding the demand of the market in some cases. The key idea of this project is to formulate my own new ‘minimalism’ in fashion: it is as exciting as it is ostentatious and flamboyant. The new fashion minimalism shares the same characters with the former style, such as the pithy clippings, the use of colour blocks and the mismatched fabrics: my design will absorb these big brands’ marrow and put their reformative notions into my design. On the contrary, it introduces geometrical composition, dramatic details, stage effects and wearers’ personalities into inanimate fabrics, to make a new identity and agitation. By doing this, my project is bridging new connections and possible vinculums between the ‘old’ (the existing fashion ideals and fashion disciplines) and ‘new’ (new fashion minimalism). I will try to reveal dolls’ hidden personalities and add them to the garments, aiming to make them become a compulsory part of the collection. The reason why I am using this method is that the dolls and those garments especially designed for them can be seen as a whole, which could be stored and collected to view and admire. Collection Style: Minimalism, Neutral, Postmodernism, German, Masculine. Quwada’s Trademark: Numbers of Buttons: The Life Path Number The numbers of buttons is based on the Astrology Numerology. According to this calculating principle, the most important date in one’s life for numerology purposes is the date of one’s birth. The Number of Destiny is a number that is obtained by adding numbers of one’s birth date: day, month, and year. In the Western numerology, it is called “The Life Path Number”. The Life Path describes the nurture of one’s journey through life. It is something someone born with, it is indicating what a person should do. It shows what one’s nature is and what capabilities one have to work directly with the flows of the universe. Numerology life path number determines the initial encoding of the bio-energetic matrix. At the moment a person was born, this person is unique with his or her own character and unrepeatable DNA. Everyone has his or her own potential, which this person should keep and develop throughout his or her life. Accordingly, the numbers of buttons of each set were carefully calculated and arranged. Materials of these buttons are black mental and they are made by my father. Quwada’s trademark and numbers of buttons have a close interconnection with each other. Each set of garments and trademarks, numbers of buttons are perfectly together. Jewellery

BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Geo Deco Collection For the 'Geo Deco Collection' I was inspired by light. There's a great energy as the sun shines in the day and when lights glow in the dark. I'm fascinated by light, and as it moves how it changes shapes, reflects and refracts. As the sun shines through coloured glass, its a delight as the hues of colours flood in its moving path. The sun mixes with water and oils to create spectrums of colour and It makes us feel happy, alive and awake... I use layers of different coloured light conducting perspex, mixed with mirrors, brass and in some pieces, LEDs. As the Jewellery moves, light catches the layers of material absorbing the lights energy, enhancing the colours as they conduct and glow brightly catching the eye. I work hard with the materials to get a great finish, to give it a polished, shiny, glassy effect and top it with brass to enrich and make it shine golden. The jewellery collection are individual pieces of art... They are structured and made to capture and entertain its audience. I like the pieces to have extra dimensions. The Jewellery is new and innovative, yet people connect as they see and find familiarities and memories within. pikkalili@live.co.uk GALLERIES MOCO LOCO Galleries http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2012/10/15/gallery-beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery.php THE ARAM GALLERY http://www.thearamgallery.org/next/ XHIBIT 2011 http://www.boidus.co.uk/?p=2755 DESIGN CATWALK http://www.designcatwalk.com/lili-colley-enlighted-jewellery/ SEE/SAW/SEEN http://www.seesawseen.co.uk/ DeTnK http://www.detnk.com/node/12050 DESIGN WEEK http://www.designweek.co.uk/whats-on/demystifying-beautiful-objects/3035438.article http://mocoloco.com/galleries/gallery/beautiful-objects-exhibition-at-the-aram-gallery/ PRESS DRAPERSonline http://www.drapersonline.com/blogs/unzipped/lcfs-college-shop-not-a-pencil-sharpener-in-sight/5041799.article Londonist http://londonist.com/2012/10/today-london-college-of-fashion-shop-opens.php GLAMUK http://glam.co.uk/2012/09/its-back-to-college-time/ COMPANY Magazine http://www.company.co.uk/fashion/news/london-college-fashion-pop-up-shop LDN Fashion http://www.ldnfashion.com/london-fashion-news/london-college-of-fashions-pop-up-college-shop/ Timeout Magazine WGSN http://wgsn.tumblr.com/post/30987031794 Elle UK.com http://m.elleuk.com/fashion/shopping-blog/the-lcf-college-shop-returns Viora Magazine http://www.vioromagazine.it/photogallery/ Dew Magazine http://www.dewmagazine.com/issuu/06newworld.html http://elegiac-circus.tumblr.com/post/31019347447/lili-colley http://pinterest.com/thedefiant/magazine-volume-1-5-future-bioculture-aw12-ss13/ - Style Bubble http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/shoes-n-things.html · Tatler.com Catwalk review with emphasis on VIP and Celebs http://www.tatler.com/bystander/events/2012/june/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show#/7516/image/1 - Vogue.co.uk http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/06/29/london-college-of-fashion-ba-show - Evening Standard http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/fashion/all-the-trimmings-london-fashion-graduates-prove-they-have-a-bright-future-7898848.html?origin=internalSearch - Fashion156.com http://www.fashion156.com/collections/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-show-2012/ · Style Bubble Susie Lau’s influential fashion blog– Catwalk highlights: http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/hackney-house-antics.html · Catwalk Queen Catwalk show review: http://www.catwalkqueen.tv/2012/07/london_college_6.html · Dash Magazine online Catwalk show review http://www.fashiondash.net/?p=3226 · Adorn Girl Fashion Blog: http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-exhibition-2012/ Exhibition review http://adorngirl.com/robert-wun-fashion-designer/ spotlight on Robert Wun http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-catwalk-2012/ Catwalk show review http://adorngirl.com/london-college-of-fashion-ba-2012-catwalk-backstage/ Backstage images · Luxsure French luxury magazine: http://www.luxsure.fr/2012/07/01/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show-2012/ · Fashion Bite (Fashion blog) Catwalk show review: http://fashionbite.co.uk/2012/07/04/london-college-of-fashion-runway-show-class-of-2012/#more-11721 · Better Never Than Late (blog) Image Gallery of Backstage at Catwalk Show: http://bntl.co.uk/2012/07/03/backstage-lcf-press-show/ · Fashion Insight (Trade publication) Catwalk review http://fashioninsightfeatures.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/london-college-of-fashion-ba-season.html · EStyler Magazine Image gallery of all designers: http://estylermagazine.com/interviews · The Upcoming (fashion and news blog) Catwalk show review: http://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2012/07/02/london-college-of-fashion-ba-and-fda-show/ · Now Fashion Catwalk show image gallery: http://nowfashion.com/28-06-2012-london-college-of-fashion-2012-part-1-live-event-event-2256.html

Panel connection with suit jacket & pants, called

MA Fashion Design Technology Menswear

Yan Yu Cheung, Octo set as a metaphor of fashion alchemist in life. She fascinates in the new textile technique continuously season by season which is a scientist endeavour for the philosopher’s stone. She aims to create a trend called "antique innovation". It is a step backward from the historical technology to the new thing. Not just superficial digital technique can fulfill it. She also states that inheriting the history is a responsibility from a designer. In her MA Menswear Collection, all the boys are her alchemical homunculus. Since alchemy is a spiritual topic which is different from the shallow inspiration from photography or art work. The conscious and subconscious approach is the indispensable process from ancient literature in alchemy to relative design development. Interpreting the elusive concept in text to actual thing is conducted by understanding the balanced way in alchemy, no matter the change from metal to gold or the creation of philosopher’s stone. All the process they devised which proceeded by separation and reunification such as liquefaction, which transform solid to liquid in alchemy. Something was devoured and reformed theoretically. She made change on traditional cable stitch on knitwear, a chemical process by hand adopted on the surface to create a new image. Besides, original form of suit jacket faded on shirt or kimono, so as to create the imperfect chaotic stage of cheap metal gold making. The garment paused the combination from two substance into a compand in order to project an innovative cutting. "The interpretation of dreams is a great art." If you are curious how to develop the unique pattern cutting or her signature knitwear technique, Please click Octo’s personal website for portfolio Website : http://www.octocheung.com/ E-mail : info@octocheung.com

Beau Coops Ad Campaign

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

I grew up in a family divided between painters and academics where I learnt that there is always space for self expression. It is only a matter of understanding the most effective way to do it. That is the main reason I consider tailoring fundamental in my desing process, because it supplies a very clear means through which one can produce ideas. And it is a very fine one too. The combination between fashion design and tailoring is the key to my work's aesthetic: a point of view where there is a controlled evolution of modern silhouettes, with an equilibrate balance between shape experimentation and traditional crafting methods. A very rich and detailed design development lays at the base of my final outcomes. The creative process is for me a combination between the elaboration of a concept, a story to tell and a more instinctive experimentation through drawing, collage and photography. It is a constant tension among the visual and the intellectual that leads me through a continuous development of ideas. My strong background in history and literature, together with my passion for visual arts and music, are the engine behind my work, the source of my inspiration.

Blog: http://charleybishop.com About: "with love, Undine" With love, Undine; Charley Bishops degree collection embraces the spirit of contradiction exploring the story of Undine, the 18th century inspirational water spirit. A tragic romantic story representing a strong endearing woman. The collection supports sustainability and embraces innovation through the use of Salmon Leather; a bi product which is strong, soft to touch and has the element of surprise. This unique fabric is laser cut with an intricate wave detail. The untouched raw edges of the intricate laser cut details partnered alongside the delicate Chantilly laces allows a further intriguing dimension to the texture and together create striking, delicate pieces with a difference. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

copyright © 2013 Huma Hayirli ----------------"Drag Me Out"---------------- I am a surface textile for fashion student specializing in print with an interest in digital print. I have a thirst for colour and extremely fascinated in creating textiles through combining print techniques with digital prints. ‘Drag me out’ is a luxury ready to wear spring/summer 2014 womenswear collection. The collection explores the story behind Drag queens and looks in-depth at the transformation from male to female. Trying to reflect this idea through contradictory fabrics, texture, colours and through the use of print. The inspiration originates from researching into the props that drag queens use and it is the wigs, eyelashes, make up and clothing that make them look totally different from their original selves. The use of colour was a major way of expressing my research and reflecting the quirkiness, colourful, exciting and bold personality of drag queens within this collection. --------------EDUCATION--------------- University of the Arts, London College of Fashion BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles (2010-2013) University of the Arts, London College of Fashion Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (2009-2010) -------------INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE--------------- Marks and Spencer Regional Office Turkey June 2012- August 2012 Design Intern/ Fabric Technician Marks and Spencer Regional Office Turkey January 2012- February 2012 Design Intern/ Fabric Technician Tower Garments May 2011- July 2011 Production Assistant White Gallery 24th May 2011 Production Assistant Sarmite Ostanevica 5th May 2011 Design Assistant Stilettos April 2010- July 2010 Studio Intern -------------SKILLS------------- Textile Skills Screen Printing Flock Foil Heat Press Printing Discharge Acid Pigment Printing Sublimation Printing Digital Printing Dyeing Irish Machines Tanaka Hand embroidery and embellishment Fashion Skills: Industrial/Domestic Machines Mannequin Work Basic Knowledge Pattern Cutting Drawings Skills (Hand rendered) Technical Drawings IT Skills: PC and Mac literate Adobe Photoshop Adobe In-Design (Basic) Languages: Fluent English and Turkish

901 lingerie photographed by Caron Westbrooke

BA (Hons) Fashion Contour

901london.com Lingerie designer 901 London ‘Bande’ Range Press Release The Bande range (Bande meaning ‘Stripe’ in French) is the first collection of couture lingerie from the 901 London brand. The numbers 9, 0 and 1 are taken from the birth year of my great grandmother whom was a lingerie designer, born 1901, in Lebanon. This brand is an extension of her legacy. The Bande range was inspired by the architecture of Zaha Hidid, Walter Burley Giffin, John M Johnson and the monochromatic, architectural photography of Jared Lim. I have always been inspired by architecture and am fascinated by the Nolli plans and figure grounds. This is what inspired the graphic leaver’s lace in my collection. The corsetry and weaving became my method of representing the lines that I see in architecture. I challenged myself to look for innovative construction methods to ensure that the garments remained for the luxury market and managed to source high quality microfiber & silk. I like to think that I design simple shapes that are then transformed into something beautiful with the irregular double weaves; however, I’m particularly pleased with the use of graphic colour contrasts and lace panel detailing. I believe this collection to be an honest representation of myself as it is feminine, but in a modern and graphic way. Without the need to commercialise too much, it remains elegant and edgy at the same time. www.jessicahearnshaw.com Jessica Hearnshaw is an Accessories Designer based in London who's focus is around the design and craftsmanship of high quality conceptual leather goods. This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance ----------------------------------------------- Credits: Images 1 - 5: Art Director: Benjamin Thapa, Photographer: Giulia Zucchetti, Model: Max @ Profile, Stylist: Irene Manicone, Makeup: Nichola Mai Images 6 - 9: Art Direction & Photographer: Benjamin Thapa Image 10 - 11: Photography: Anthony John Sayer Creative Director: Rob Phillips Beauty: Pace Chen Model: Rosemary Banks

Camel Coat - Geometric Composition of Avant-Garde Tailoring Collection 2013

BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring

Joshua Jeffrey Millard, the Farmers son from Dorset has brought his rural routes to the city of London, where he has developed the ability through learning Bespoke and Production Tailoring techniques to give body to his fantasies. Fantasies of which correlate around the beauty of the female form, and hybridise his rural-urban layers of inspiration together, to curate unique, quality garments. ‘My ambition has always been to resuscitate the tradition of British pride and the attitude towards ones own appearance, in turn rejuvenating the spectacle of class as my clientele are able to differentiate themselves from the masses’ He realises the importance of understanding construction when designing, hence from a young age taught himself and practiced the art of pattern cutting, and after finishing his A-Levels made the move to the metropolis of London in order to learn the fine art of Bespoke & Production Tailoring. His relocation to London has made him susceptible to different cultures and given him an insight into the reality of modern life. This has resulted in a catalyst effect upon the maturity and complexity of his work, and with this effect occurring over an 18-month period where he has already received a first class Foundation degree in Tailoring, he hopes to develop his technical ability even further on his final year of the BA Bespoke Tailoring degree.
