BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Born in Israel, Liron Kliger is a London based jewellery designer who graduated a BA (HON) in Jewellery Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion. Liron developed a passion for jewellery design whilst completing a foundation in fashion design course at West London College, Liron developed a love for raw materials and desire to create unique pieces encompassing the form and essence of the material used. The primary influence on Liron’s work (apart from the raw materials) evolved from years spent living and travelling in cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Tel Aviv. Liron was exposed cultural idiosyncrasies which in turn influenced the way in which she combines / uses materials and their subsequent adaptation to her needs. Liron’s latest project developed from a fascination with snakeskin and infatuation with catwalk pieces; motivating her to create her own interpretation via snakeskin inspired bangles. Liron’s previous catwalk projects include a large feathered neck piece and oversized dice jewellery. In the foundation year of her BA Liron was awarded third place in the UK in a competition run by the Metro newspaper for her creation of a jewellery body suit utilising recycled materials. [Images 1-13] Photography: Anai Bharucha http://anaibharucha.tumblr.com/ Beauty: Som J http://www.facebook.com/somijj Image Editor: Terrence Seah http://www.edfool.com/blog Model: Mila from Oxygen Models Management [Collection] The Collection `INUNDATE` presents versatile garments for women seeking a combination of fashion, longevity and a touch of uniqueness. The collection consists of multi-functional garments with timeless shapes thus lasting for more than just a single fashion cycle with the ability to be combined with pieces from future collections with ease. The Inspiration behind `INUNDATE` has derived from Robert Polidori`s exposition`After the Flood` and Gideon Mendel`s visual portfolio `A Drowning World`. Both photography projects artistically and beautifully portray global disasters and raise awareness of their serious after effects and causes. Further research into this has thus lead me to look at global warming, pollution and waste. There is no miracle to prevent these events from occurring but the aim of the brand is to do it`s small part by producing long lasting, quality garments that excite at the same time, proving that fashion does not have to be `fast` or disposable and replaced with next season items in order to remain fun and current. BA (Hons) Technical Effects for Performance

I had spent a number of years working as an actress, theatre director and designer before deciding to train further at LCF in Technical Effects. During my three years of study, I have developed a range of skills in the designing and making of costumes, props and special effects for recorded and live performance. I am now looking to work in both the film and theatre industries and to expand my practical skills further under the guidance of experienced professionals. With a particular affinity for creature effects and puppetry, I am a confident and fast sculptor, mouldmaker, fabricator and finisher. Friendly and with a good sense of humour, I am eager to learn and always aim to push myself in every project I take on. I've had a wonderful three years working on projects at university as well as on professional projects for the BBC, London Fashion Week, English National Opera, various advertising campaigns and fringe theatre companies. I now look forward to this next exciting stage of my career.

Inspired by the Bauhaus spirit, they started their journey with the Bauhaus motto in mind, then delved into their own unique background to search for things that would best define themselves as fashion design students. ‘Two crazy minds. One passionate menswear collection.’ For the pattern cutting side, Adrien developed the shape and silhouette by playing around the Bauhaus geometric aesthetic and reinventing the traditional Chinese patterns. Simple and playful are the frame of mind and the way for the printing design to shine. For the printing design side, Antonia combined the intensity of Bauhaus painting style and the excitement of light and music from her clubbing adventure to come up with strong and fanatical printing design. With both of them focusing on what excites them most and paying attention to each other’s progress, they realised the the strength of collaboration and created a unique printed menswear collection. ‘No longer can anything exist in isolation. We perceive every form as the embodiment of an idea, every piece of work as a manifestation of our innermost selves. Only work which is the product of inner compulsion can have spiritual meaning.‘ ~ Walter Gropius

Fur sponsored by Saga Furs, Photography - Justino Esteves, Model - Caitlin Morrin at Select

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

Oksana Anilionyte I would like to thank Saga Furs for a wonderful sponsorship. Collection is based on idea of a soft control. The collection is an investigation into inter-relation of minimalism and modern women. I found my inspiration in Michelangelo Antonioni films L’Avventura (1960), La Notte (1961), Eclipse (1962) and Il deserto rosso (1964). His films concentrate on how the modern world influence people and their feelings. Personal feelings, doubts, moods are substance of the films. The works and processes of Robert Morris, Tony Cragg and Daniel Arsham sculptures and abstract painting of Dale Frank served as the initial inspiration for the silhouette, colour, texture and details of the collection. The aim was to mix different techniques and inspirations to reach new and unexpected levels. I embraced the complexities and simplicities by different techniques to reinvent a version of femininity. Robert Morris felt sculptures led to create new ways of using seams to express the fluidity of line. The collection is a lot about the lines that are so pure, so clear, that they convey simplicity in their perfection. The purity is combined with texture that comes from tufting embroidery and soft fur to create a new level of feelings that garments create when touched. A dialogue between time and timelessness runs through the progression of the minimalist aesthetic which is felt in fluidity of seam lines. The collection incorporates a range of luxury fabrics (cashmere, wool, silk, fur, leather) to examine the balance between textures, silhouette and a purity of line. BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration

Scarlett Giannakou -Currently studying fashion illustration at London college of fashion on my final year. Previous experience in Textiles/Art & Design and Fashion E-commerce I mainly draw hand rendered pieces using pencil, tonal, watercolour, colouring pencils and inks. I would say my work is a mix of all my favourite designers/illustration in one pot! Of course David Downton, Esra Roise, Richard Gray and Kelly Smith. I also like to incorporate photography within illustrations, that I have taken myself. My inspiration is mainly from my surroundings - nature playing the biggest part. Especially animals such as horses and birds but also leaves, flowers and wood grains. I love the free element of nature and feel this when I myself draw. I also adore going out and about in London with my camera and street scouting for inspirational dress or characters. I am very passionate about fashion illustration and it has resonated within me from a very young age; from when my Grandma gave me a bridal catalogue. I used to copy the dresses everyday- my passion for dress started there and has developed into my obsession. (****Please mention the name of ownership for all images as the title of each photo above if you want to share or publish online, thanks you;)) A small mens collection which makes use of series of hand movement especially hug to express how the (dis) connection between people to people and the loneliness by my experience. Some keywords have become the main points of my collection. “Hugs”, “Communication”, “Interesting”, “Fun”, “flourishing”, “a bit implication of sex”, “comfort”, “to be protected”, “to be surrounded”, ‘to cherish"“warmth”, “memory”, "happiness", “childhood”, “lifetime”, ”Let go”, etc. Interaction and communication are the action to express love and depart from loneliness between human beings. 'Hands" is the key point of the collection as very figurative object to express this abstract idea. Moreover, this small collection is developed like a short story of life. The 6 outfits represent their own story and meaning respectively. In order to make people feel warm and hugged, some of the clothes would be padding and the hands (gloves) would be adding wad to make it looks puffy as childish soft toys. Some pieces are also to keep repeating a certain part (For example, sleeves) to make people feeling full and not alone or enlarge the scale by magnifying a certain part on clothes, which makes people feel a sense of relief. Fashion Designer Lingerie Designer Accomplished at creative design and pattern cutting skills who believes in lingerie is all about self-expression which can combine both functional and sexuality and makes the best of woman’s looks, whilst controlling the body. My work is all about communicative power of contour with strong philosophy, to consider the flow around the body to demonstrate 'innovation' with sculptural paneling and simplified lines. My work is also inspired by oriental mood (both traditional culture and strong color palette) which combined extreme femininity and glamour with power to accentuate the beauty of the female body. The inspiration of my collection comes from an ancient style of Chinese calligraphy called Seal Characters so that my designs always go with abstracted lines mix with the geometric, modern structure silhouette and minimal clean-cut look to express the unique beauty of both Oriental and Western women, to make them liberated, sophisticated and powerful. BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

This collection’s focus is on accessories that have a integral relationship to what they contain. That are as fascinating to unwrap, as a gift is to open. Inspired specifically by traditional japanese packaging which has a strong minimalist aesthetic. A key notion of japanese packaging is that the gift and the act of unwrapping the gift, is just as important as what is inside. This art form would wrap a given object in whatever materials lay at hand. The outcome was often not only practical for storage and transporting the object but also produced a simple beautiful shape free of all excess and extravagance email: jesshearnshaw@gmail.com
