MA Fashion Design Technology, Menswear

There is a fresh interpretation in Ancient Egyptian Culture in Kay Kwok’s menswear collection--fake eternity. with the inspiration of Ancient Egyptian Religious and Cosmology-the mysterious story behind Sphinx, the relation between the process of mummy erosion and the system of Ancient Egyptian’s constellation like Ancient culture of Solar,Lunar & Stellar story. the Designer has combined the ideas to create prints by playing shades, light and flame aiming to pushing digital printing into a new area with the twist of classic menswear tailoring.
Printed Neoprene fabric is widely used on the collection because of its fleshy hand-feel.

with the uniqueness and freshness of his menswear , the collection was nominated for the Collection of The Year Award 2012. 'Tsz Fung Kwok, from Hong K

Anjie Jimin An 2013 FW Collection

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

my collection started from japanese teenager biker gang in 80's which is called as Bousouzoku. As they were still high school students, they transformed their school uniform in their trendy way. So it got mixed with a few touch of school girl. "Favoured by renowned fashion journalist Hilary Alexander was BA (hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear student Anjie JiMin An’s collection. A mixture of dark plaid and navy, she described Anjie’s work as “quite Yohji… very commercial but also very avant-garde and the tailoring was exceptional.” The extremely long fake hair extensions that models wore, which came to almost kilt length, certainly had everyone talking." BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)

My original inspiration came from Commedia dell'arte, which was a form of Italian masked theatre in the 16th century, and the characters portrayed in these stories, such as Pierrot and Harlequin (which are now precursors to the modern day clown) which have been depicted in reknown paintings by Picasso and Juan Gris. I loved the bright textures, striking shapes and emphatic textures (which I developed and incorporated into my pieces by the use of smocking) present in the Commedia dell'arte and wanted to modernise the characters through my collection, as well as add a bit of my own culture and memories through the incorporation of Thai garland flowers in the accessories which share a similar type of brightness and colourfulness. Engineered Skeletal Knit Textile Detail

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Surface Textiles)

Embracing new technologies and merging them with old crafts; I create pieces fusing knit, embroidery, laser cutting and textile manipulation and have a strong understanding of proportion and the body with the ability to engineer and construct embellishment to enhance design on the body. All pieces designed and constructed are inspired by architecture and structure in nature. Exoskeletons and skeletons in particular have constantly been a point of fascination and through layering, contrasting and distorting my inspirations I push the development further via context, use of materials and scale. The focus is always on the textile first, the final design being a result of the 3D textile experimentation process. Editorial with Hill & Aubrey

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)

Ema Ranger is a Menswear Designer with a strong focus on utility and sportswear. Designs are a modern take on nineties street wear trends and are designed to be worn by people of “the street”. Garments are designed to be unforgettable, impactful and interesting whilst also being well made, wearable and luxurious. The wearer should be able to take any garment into their wardrobe and work it with all of their favorite looks. Garments are often made from unconventional materials that wouldn’t usually be found within a collection of this kind, this is to try and break the boundaries between “street wear” and high end menswear. “Xcloose” 2012/13 This collection was based on the “street “and the aim was to express the voice of someone who would otherwise be left unheard. The garments were designed for people of the “street”, rather than using them purely for inspiration, and the idea is that they would be able to style key pieces within the collection to express how they feel. Innovative materials and processes have been combined with nineties sportswear inspiration to create an updated version of the original “street” trends. Graffiti and underground music also inspired the design of this trans- seasonal sporty collection for 2012/13. A space view of the Niger Delta

FdA Fashion Design And Marketing

For more than five centuries the fortunes of the Niger Delta have been closely tied to that of the global economy. For its slave ports, then palm industry, and most recently through the discovery of crude oil in the 1950s. Oil multinationals soon came to the fore, working in alliance with a local elite to strip the region of its wealth and despoil it. At the receiving end are the region's impoverished inhabitants: left with a poisoned environment, faced with government that never cares and victims of rival armed militant groups laying claim to territories. (Delta Nigeria. The Rape of Paradise 2011) Everyday more than two million barrels of oil are transported above ground from approximately 5,000 well, through the country in 7,000 kilometres of pipelines. According to a new study, between nine to eleven million barrels of oil have allegedly been spilled since drilling began in 1956. Only a tiny percentage of the profits reaches the region where the oil is actually extracted. The infrastructure of the delta, its public health and the availability of clean water and nutrition are in a disastrous state.(Last Rites Niger Delta. The Drama of Oil Production in Contemporary Photographs, Dr Christine Stelzig, 2012) Delta Treasure was created as a result of the injustices the people of the Niger Delta have had to withstand. The brands seeks to bring light to the situation in the Niger Delta, by showing that there is more to this beautiful place than the Crude oil that is so sought after. The Delta Treasure brand seeks to inspire through various projects. Delta Treasure aims to be a luxury brand with charitable initiatives. Fashion with a cause.

(****Please mention the the ownership of the photos as the title of each photo above if you want to share or publish online, thanks you;)) A small mens collection for A/W 2012-2013 which makes use of series of hand movement especially hug to express how the (dis) connection between people to people and the loneliness by my experience. Some keywords have become the main points of my collection. “Hugs”, “Communication”, “Interesting”, “Fun”, “flourishing”, “a bit implication of sex”, “comfort”, “to be protected”, “to be surrounded”, ‘to cherish" “warmth”, “memory”, "happiness", “childhood”, “lifetime”, ”Let go”, etc. Interaction and communication are the action to express love and depart from loneliness between human beings. 'Hands" is the key point of the collection as very figurative object to express this abstract idea. Moreover, this small collection is developed like a short story of life. The 6 outfits represent their own story and meaning respectively. In order to make people feel warm and hugged, some of the clothes would be padding and the hands (gloves) would be adding wad to make it looks puffy as childish soft toys. Some pieces are also to keep repeating a certain part (For example, sleeves) to make people feeling full and not alone or enlarge the scale by magnifying a certain part on clothes, which makes people feel a sense of relief. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

Loko Yu BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear http://showtime.arts.ac.uk/lokoyu http://my.lcffirstmove.co.uk/graduates/6831 AW/12 : Influenced by non-fashion bodies presented in the form of NANA sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, anti-mainstream style movements and individualist body art, I explored a multiple shade scheme of black that is defined through 3D surface embellishment, giving the illusion of body art growing from the wearer, through the garment, gaining its own life. I've researched sub-cultures and used elements of them in very fine detailing of my pieces, such as functioning piercing into a seam to create a piece. As a designer, I am constantly inspired by people who break free of society’s expectations to fit into a certain mould, body and appearance. I always seek to explore and develop a concept fully without restrictions like trends or pre-set ideas of what the final garments should be or shouldn’t be. This way, the full potential of an idea can be realized; sometimes mistakes made during the development of a garment can lead to unintentional great outcomes. Today, fashion is foremost and leads style trends in music, with the majority of contemporary music stars being fabricated and manufactured. The true rock star has become obsolete. K, [HyungTae Kim] "I don’t like the term “fashion”. I am not a fashion designer. I am a creator”. "A/W 2013 Generation." A/w 2013 "The idea of K A/w 13 collection is to explore the sensitive relationship between youth-cultures and parental culture." My concept is to look at the contrasts between the themes of 'Father/Tradition, Youth/rebellious and Uniform/War. What inspired me were the memory and feelings I had when I was an adolescent boy. The memory of trying my Father's clothes is unforgettable. What remains deep inside of me is the feeling of warmth and comfort. To more accurately describe, it was like wearing a very warm blanket in a very cold and lonely winter. This feelings got stronger when I was trying his military jacket. I wanted to deliver that feeling of warmness of oversized khaki fabrics whilst having the adolescent boy's rebelliousness attitude that I had as I grow up, as his jacket getting smaller. "Hyung tae Kim’s was also great – it was a very good season.” Backpacks featured strongly in a great deal of collections, particularly in Kim’s who presented low-slung oversized backpacks combined with large, long coats that looked reminiscent of ‘typical’ father’s clothing but with a younger fresher vibe" - Hilary Alexander Academic London College of Fashion 2009 -2012 BA(Hons) FDT Menswear FT Northumbria University 2006-2009 BA(Hons)FDT Fashion Design Foundation Degree Work Experience Reworked [london] 2009 - 2011 [VINTAGE, ARMY CLOTHE REWORKED SHOP] ASSIATANT Diorasa 2007-2008 [Tailor shop] TAILOR ASSISTANT Press: http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/fashion/catwalk/AW2012/ReadyToWear/london/london_college_of_fashion_-_ba/full-length-photos -http://www.gomoneyways.com/?p=65953 -http://jaci-mag.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/untitled-ss-2013-mens-collection-acne.html -http://www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/2012/live/ -http://disordermagazine.com/lcfs-upcoming-talent/style/ -http://www.flickr.com/photos/53179772@N06/7490122378/ -http://fashionstyleology.com/hyung-tae-kim-k-aw-2013-lcf-ba-show/ -http://blogs.fashion.arts.ac.uk/snapshot/2012/06/29/last-night-in-shoreditch/ -http://nowfashion.com/28-06-2012-london-college-of-fashion-2012-part-1-live-event-event-2256.html -http://www.tatler.com/bystander/events/2012/june/london-college-of-fashion-graduate-show#/7516/image/25 - http://www.catwalking.com/ -http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/autumn-winter-2012/ready-to-wear/london-college-of-fashion-ba/page/7# -http://www.fashion156.com/collections/london-college-of-fashion-ba-graduate-show-2012/ Contact. "My first love is women’s footwear but I also work with passion on womenswear. My favourite source are always natural materials as traditional connotations to create a tough and modern silhouette. These designs are made for the independent and fiercely fashionable woman who is not afraid to stand out from the crowd. I push boundaries in combining masculine strength with feminine confidence, juxtaposing sensual proportion that exaggerates the female shape with dominant structural high heels".
